Adam Sandler and Kevin Garnett on Uncut Gems and Week 15 Picks
We’ve been sitting on this one for a few weeks, smiling ear to ear, and it’s finally time to let it rip. Adam Sandler and Kevin Garnett joined the show to talk about their new movie *Uncut Gems*, and honestly, the vibes were immaculate. Before the A-listers took over, Big Cat and PFT Commenter had to bid a fond (and slightly relieved) farewell to Thursday Night Football for the season after Lamar Jackson absolutely dismantled the Jets.
Big Cat is ready to crown the King of Baltimore right now, noting that it would take a miracle for anyone to catch him in the awards race.
Lamar Jackson is officially the MVP
Lamar Jackson passes Michael Vick in rushing for season for quarterback. He is the MVP. It would take basically Russell Wilson, like Russell Wilson probably gonna throw seven touchdowns every single game for last three games to surpass them.
Beyond the hardware, there is the matter of the Madden curse, which Big Cat is fully embracing because playing with a 99-speed Lamar is essentially like using a cheat code from the early 2000s.
Lamar Jackson is a lock for the Madden cover
There has never been a bigger guarantee in the entire world of sports: the Lamar Jackson cover of Madden.
Week 15 Preview and the "New Falcons"
The slate for Week 15 features several "loser leaves town" games that will likely solidify the playoff picture. The conversation naturally turned to the Dallas Cowboys, who continue to be the most frustrating team in professional sports for anyone trying to take them seriously. Big Cat has finally figured out their true identity.
The Cowboys are the new Falcons: high talent, low results
I finally realized what the Cowboys are: the Cowboys are the new Falcons. They are a team with a ton of talent that we say 'well, they haven't played their best game, it's coming.' You can name all these guys on the team... They're just not good. They're average to below average throughout the season.
In the AFC South, the Titans and Texans are battling for the division crown. While Ryan Tannehill has been playing out of his mind, PFT isn't convinced this heater can last forever, suggesting we are witnessing the absolute ceiling of the Tannehill experience.
Ryan Tannehill is peaking and will never play better than he is right now
We're in the process of watching Ryan Tannehill as good as he's probably ever as good as his body is capable of playing football. That's how he's playing. The best will ever get it's probably not going to get any better than this.
As for the Bears, Big Cat is using the power of his "Can't Lose" parlay for nefarious purposes to try and manifest a win over the Packers. He's convinced the elements and the return of a certain defensive tackle will swing the tide in Lambeau.
The Bears will beat the Packers because Hakeem Hicks is returning and the Packers aren't ready for cold-weather football.
Hakeem Hicks is back because it's cold. There was a big boy football this time of year for big boy football. And I don't know if the Packers are ready to play Big Boy football just yet... Hakeem Hicks being back I think is going to be [the difference].
Adam Sandler and Kevin Garnett
Adam Sandler walked into the studio and immediately became the guys' best friend. It’s not an act; he’s just a genuine guy who wants to know what you’re up to and maybe give you a side-hug on the way out. He was quick to heap praise on his co-star, Kevin Garnett, even suggesting that the Big Ticket might be clearing some space on his mantle for some new hardware.
Kevin Garnett will get an Oscar nomination for Uncut Gems.
KG's getting nominated [for an Oscar], if anybody's getting nominated.
KG was incredible, breaking down how his intensity on the court translated to the set. He noted that the preparation for a major film role wasn't as different from a Game 7 as you might think.
There are many parallels between preparing for an NBA game and preparing to be on screen as an actor.
A lot of parallels in how you prepare for a game and how you prepare to be on screen. You have to know timing, you know momentum, believe it or not, chemistry.
We also got the definitive answer on the KG/Joakim Noah beef (there is no interaction, only competition) and, most importantly, the final pitch for *Boner Dogs*. PFT successfully secured Adam Sandler as an executive producer for the film about a sled dog whose anatomical disadvantage helps him find the way home in the snow. It’s basically *Rudolph*, but for the PMT audience.
Hot Stove and FAQ
The MLB Hot Stove is actually hot this year, with Scott Boras securing enough money to buy several small countries. The Gerrit Cole signing to the Yankees dominated the headlines, and Big Cat is already salivating at the potential for a historic collapse in the Bronx.
It will be a major letdown and hilariously funny if the Yankees do not win the World Series after signing Gerrit Cole.
If they don't win this year, it'll be a major letdown for them. It's going to be a real shame. Now as the Yankees sign more and more, like being around Yankee fans, it's going to be so much funnier if they don't win it all.
PFT also weighed in on Anthony Rendon’s massive deal with the Angels, noting that it’s the perfect setup for a guy who wants to get paid and stay out of the limelight.
Anthony Rendon's contract with the Angels is a retirement deal
This is a great move if you're Rendon because you don't like dealing with media, you don't like the spotlight that much, you don't have to worry about that. It's a retirement brilliant contract. You just move to Southern California and you get paid to just chill.
To wrap things up, the guys hit some FAQs, including a debate on whether humans should still be drinking milk and a look at Jameis Winston’s "historic" numbers compared to the greats of the past. Big Cat isn't ready to put Jameis in the Hall of Fame just yet.
Jameis Winston's stats are only better than Peyton Manning's because of the era
This is how the new-age NFL [is]. This is why the Jameis Winston/Peyton Manning stats are ridiculous when you actually adjust them for era. It's like, yeah, of course Jameis Winston has these numbers that are better than Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning still played partially in the old NFL.
Go see *Uncut Gems* on Christmas Day so the industry knows the PMT bump is real.
