Tony Ferguson must be the next undisputed UFC lightweight title contender

Tony Ferguson is absolutely impossible to deny right now. 11 straight wins at 155 pounds. His next fight has to be for the undisputed UFC lightweight championship, and I can't say that any louder.

While Anik said it 'has' to be, it never was for the undisputed belt. Ferguson fought Donald Cerrone and then Justin Gaethje for an interim title, losing his streak before ever fighting for the undisputed belt.

The Falcons are officially done for the season

Falcons are definitely a Dunchain candidate. Put the Dunchain right around their neck. [Pete Prisco] The Falcons can't stop anybody. They're pretty much done.

The Falcons finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs, confirming they were 'done' as a contender.

Joe Mixon might be a top three running back in the NFL when healthy

And Joe Mixon might be top three running back. Yeah, I might say that. I'm going to say it.

While Mixon was productive, he was generally not considered top 3 by any consensus ranking (AP All-Pro, Pro Bowl, yardage leaders) compared to Todd Gurley, Saquon Barkley, and Ezekiel Elliott in 2018.

The clutch gene is a real muscle that can be strengthened

Researchers who study the brains of athletes believe more and more that a so-called clutch gene exists. They've seen enough incremental improvement through brain training that they regarded as a muscle capable of being built and likewise atrophying.

The existence of a 'clutch gene' is highly debated and largely considered a psychological phenomenon rather than a literal muscle or single gene, though performance under pressure can be trained.

Mac Jones is definitively not the guy to lead the Patriots long-term

I would put a tattoo bet on it right now that [Mac Jones] is not gonna realize anything resembling long-term NFL success. ... everybody locally in Boston understands that he has a C arm at best. Like he's a good leader of men... but that only goes so far.

Mac Jones was benched in 2023 and traded to the Jaguars in 2024 to be a backup, confirming he was not the long-term solution in New England.

Lamar Jackson is better than Michael Vick

I don't need Michael Vick to tell me that this dude [Lamar Jackson] is gonna be better than Michael Vick. And was there no room for improvement for Lamar once he got to the league? Like how did so many teams fucking miss on that?

Lamar Jackson has since won a second MVP (2023), further strengthening the argument that he has a more decorated career than Vick.

The betting odds for Molly McCann (+380) vs. Aaron Blanchfield are out of whack

I will though just say that the Molly McCann price to me seems out of whack. Aaron Blanchfield's a great grappler but minus 400 given what Molly has done of late, that surprises me.

Aaron Blanchfield dominated McCann and won via first-round submission, suggesting the high odds were actually accurate.
