Teaching children to drive a stick shift should be a prerequisite of parenting

Teaching your children to swim and teaching them to drive stick should probably be just prerequisites across the board. I tried to teach my son years and years ago when he was still looking out for getting girls... and he wasn't interested.

This is a subjective opinion on parenting and life skills.

Mike McCarthy cycles play-calling duties annually just to avoid being held accountable for failure

Every year I feel like Mike McCarthy either gives up play calling or gets play calling back. If you move the play calling stick around, then nobody's really at fault.

McCarthy did frequently toggle play-calling duties in Green Bay during his tenure.

Carson Wentz will look like a deflated Ben Roethlisberger in two years

Carson Wentz strikes me as the kind of guy that's going to get fat later, though... Two years from now, Carson Wentz is going to look like a slightly deflated and less aggressive Ben Roethlisberger.

While Wentz's play declined significantly, he did not particularly 'get fat' or look like Ben Roethlisberger by 2018.

Switching to 1% milk after a heart attack is the ultimate football guy move

Switching to 1% milk after a heart attack... That is the most football guy move of all time because there are like a million other things. I agree with Urban Meyer. Don't spend more time with your family. Don't maybe knock out fast food, but take it down from 2% to 1%.

The take is a satirical observation about Urban Meyer's lifestyle choices after his health scare.

Late-night TV news commercials for products like CarShield are frauds

When I see them up there, those products are fraud... I mean, they wouldn't be advertising there if they weren't a fraud. I have an occasional check with the FTC site and the Better Business Bureau to see various of these companies have all sorts of consumer complaints against them. And what a shock!

CarShield and similar companies have indeed faced numerous complaints and legal actions from the FTC regarding deceptive advertising and service denials.

If a commercial starts by saying 'this is not a scam,' it's probably a scam

When they started with the reverse mortgages... the ad started with a sentence: 'This is not a scam.' I mean, that was the furthest thing from my mind until he put it in my head that this might be a scam. Why are they saying it's legit? It never occurred to me that it's not, but now I'm going to start to investigate it.

While logically sound in terms of consumer skepticism, it remains an opinion on marketing rhetoric.

The New York Times was desperate for Alex Cooper to say something negative about Barstool Sports

It was obvious to me... that the New York Times was salivating to get [Alex Cooper] to say something that would be damaging to Barstool. And she didn't. They couldn't resist getting [the sidebar about Dave Portnoy] in there.

The editorial intent of a publication is inherently subjective and cannot be definitively proven.
