Coach K's role with USA Basketball is a major gray area for recruiting

Coach K just, you know, getting to be friends with all of the NBA All-Stars and then, like, when he goes on recruiting visits being like, oh, you want me to FaceTime LeBron? Again, not cheating, but I would say that's a gray area, a major gray area.

While legally permissible under NCAA rules, many peers and analysts agreed it provided an unmatched recruiting advantage.

Augusta National pipes in bird noises for the Masters broadcast

I'm more convinced than ever that the birds are actually piped in crowd noise. Agreed. There's one bird in particular. They play its call over and over and over. It's a cardinal, I think. They're getting sloppy with it. I think it might be a whippoorwill. But whatever it is, it's very obvious.

While CBS was caught using recorded bird sounds in 1990 and 1991, Augusta National and modern broadcasters maintain the sounds are natural, though the theory persists among fans.

Bryson DeChambeau looks fat when he is playing poorly

When you're bigger and you're doing well, you're strong. And when you're doing poorly, you're fat. And he looks fat today. Not to body shame, but there's something about the plus four next to his name that the strength now becomes a little pudgy.

This is a purely subjective observation about visual perception based on athletic performance.

I like Patrick Reed more than Bryson DeChambeau because Reed is a genuine villain

I somehow like Patrick Reed more because he's more of a villain than Bryson is... He's the ultimate heel in golf. Bryson is like, he's an aspiring heel. [Reed] knows everyone hates him, and he kind of has just accepted it.

Subjective opinion on which golfer is more likable or a better villain.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
