Dan Hurley turning down both Kentucky and the Lakers in three months is a historic run

Dan Hurley might be the, the, so back to back national titles, obviously the new face of college basketball coaching. And then to turn down Kentucky and the Lakers in the same three month span. That's a historic run to turn down those two entities in that amount of time for that much money. He's just flexing on everyone.

This is a fact-based opinion on the prestige and rarity of the situation.

Joey Chestnut's ban from the Nathan's contest is a sign of the late stages of the American empire

Joey Chestnut has been banned from the Nathan's hot dog eating competition on July 4th in America is at its knees. It's the end of it. It feels like the late stages of an empire. This is the sign.

While metaphorically a 'disaster' for fans, Joey Chestnut did eventually face a major career shift by leaving the Nathan's contest, though the American empire remains intact.

Joey Chestnut is the best eater of all time in the history of the world

Everybody eats. Joey Chestnut is the best person, the best eater of all time in the history of the world. He needs to be rich for that fact.

In the world of competitive eating, Chestnut holds almost every major record, making this a widely accepted take in that niche.

Joey Chestnut should be a billionaire

What does Joey Chestnut, what does Jeff Bezos do better than Joey Chestnut? Not a lot. What does Elon Musk do better than Joey Chestnut? Like, I want Joey Chestnut to be so rich that he can do whatever he wants.

Economically, he is not and will likely never be a billionaire. This is a satirical value judgment.

The goal allowed by the US goalie was the most embarrassing possible

What about the goalie? Yeah, I mean he... that was the most embarrassing goal that I've ever seen. Possible.

While subjective, the blunder by the US goalkeeper (Freeze/Turner) was widely mocked as a 'MAC football' level mistake.

The USMNT is the 'James Franklin Penn State' of soccer

People were making very mean jokes online that we were James Franklin, Penn State. And it is actually perfectly appropriate because if you look at who we played, we beat the teams we're supposed to beat... and then we absolutely got ass fucked by the team that was better than us in Belgium. We are not who we thought we were.

Subjective comparison.

We just suck at soccer as a country and that's okay

My take is we suck at soccer and that's okay. Like, I don't care that we suck at soccer anymore. I'm going to root for the US team. I'm gonna get excited when we're in a World Cup. I'm gonna get hyped up and it's gonna be fun to watch. And then I'm gonna be reminded that we suck at soccer and that it's just gonna be like, okay, yeah, that's okay.

Subjective perspective on American soccer.
