The Thunder were the real winners of the NBA seeding race because they avoid the Nuggets and Spurs until the WCF

I think the winner was OKC tonight because Denver, if they had lost tonight, they could have gone down to four. Now the Thunder don't have to worry about anyone—the Nuggets or Spurs—until the Western Conference final.

The outcome of the Western Conference playoffs will validate this bracket analysis.

Rory McIlroy is ducking this podcast and it is a glaring empty spot on his resume

A lot of people are saying that Rory can't go on the big one. That he's been ducking this and that's gonna be the one glaring empty spot on his resume when everyone looks at it, when it's all said and done.

While Rory has never appeared on PMT, the idea that it is a 'glaring empty spot' on his actual professional resume is humorously subjective.

Rory McIlroy would have choked this Masters away if he hadn't won last year

I actually think that if he didn't win last year, this one, he would've probably choked away because he kind of had that huge lead. He had a six-stroke lead going into the weekend. He did not play great on Saturday. Everyone kind of caught up to him. He didn't make any huge, huge mistakes on the back nine because he felt confident.

This is a psychological counter-factual that cannot be proven, but it aligns with Rory's history of major struggles prior to 2025.

Scottie Scheffler missed his critical putt on 17 because he knows the course too much and overthinks it

The putt on 17 just didn't turn at the last second. It was like half a ball that he missed by. Sometimes these guys know the course too much and they overthink the course. It's like if you're married to somebody for like 60 years, all you do is fight. You know, you lose sight of what makes that person so great.

A common golf trope about over-reading greens, though impossible to verify.

The Spurs vs. Thunder series is the most toxic series in NBA history

The most toxic series in the NBA is going seven... the Sj discourse, Wendy's henchman, Wemby not going to do media after game five, the blowouts, the officiating. It's toxic. Everyone hates everyone. I love every second of it, but it is toxic.

Whether a series is 'the most toxic in history' is subjective and part of the show's hyperbolic sports discourse.

Victor Wembanyama skipping the media after a bad game is a 'lame ass move' for a future face of the league

I like Wemby a lot. That's a lame ass move to not go and talk to the media, especially when you want to be the face of the league... You gotta just go and face the music when you have a bad game. We criticize Rory [McIlroy] when he does this... when you lose, you gotta just face the music.

The value of media availability is a matter of sports etiquette and opinion.

The Vegas Golden Knights reaching three Stanley Cup Finals in nine years while only missing the playoffs once is a crazy level of success.

The Golden Knights are, it's pretty shocking the fact that they have been a franchise for nine years and this is their third trip to the Stanley Cup final. They have won one, lost one. This is their third. They have also gone to the playoffs in those nine years. They have missed the playoffs one single time. It's a crazy run by them.

The Golden Knights have indeed had unprecedented success for an expansion franchise, though the specific 2026 counts depend on the episode's fictional timeline.
