Global dimming will cause a short-term increase in global warming this summer

There's something called global dimming which is the effect that aerosol and all those little particles have... It actually protects us a little bit from the sun's rays and makes the earth a little bit cooler because we put so much shit into the atmosphere now that all that's dipping down. It's actually going to increase the short-term effect of global warming, so we're doubly fucked.

While aerosol reduction does reduce cooling, scientists found that the 2020 lockdowns had a negligible impact on overall global temperatures, making the 'doubly fucked' heatwave prediction somewhat inaccurate for that specific summer.

There has never been a better time to get a cold sore than during the quarantine

How about this for positivity? There's never been a better time to get a cold sore. I'm just saying that if you do get cold sores now is like you're hitting the lottery if you get one you don't have to go into work for a couple weeks, no one's ever going to know.

This is a subjective humorous claim about the benefits of working from home with a facial blemish.

Returning to normalcy after the pandemic will be a gradual process, not a sudden switch

We're also not going back to normal like a light switch. We're not gonna be like, 'Hey, there we go. Now everyone just go party and we're cool.' It's going to be such a weird gradual thing where everyone is scared of each other because of germs.

This proved extremely accurate as the return to normal 'life' took years of gradual easing and social hesitation.

The NBA is definitely going to cancel the rest of the 2019-2020 season

I saw it briefly and scrolled right by it. And then this is the first time thinking about the fact that [Adrian Wojnarowski] kind of hinted that and NBA is definitely going to cancel the rest of the season.

The NBA season was not cancelled; it resumed in the 'Bubble' in Orlando in July 2020 to crown a champion.

The Celtics are statistically a better team without Jaylen Brown

Jalen Brown has the second worst plus minus of any five time All Star over the past 10 years... Also the Celtics win more games without Jalen Brown than when he is playing... Last year with, with Jalen Brown, they won 66% of their games without, they won 80%... Their entire career with Jalen Brown. They are 263 and 1 31. That's 67% without Brown. There're 60 and 26, 70%.

The stats provided are fictional/hypothetical within the 2026 setting, but presented as fact to support a 'Ewing Theory' style take.

The Celtics are no longer eligible to be the NBA's team of the 2020s without Jaylen Brown

If the Celtics rebuild and they get back to like the NBA finals, let's say in like 2029, let's say they win another chip in 2029, that's a different team. Like the core is completely different without Jalen Brown. I don't know that you could consider the Celtics to ever even be eligible for team of the 2020s. Because it's gonna be two different iterations of the team.

Inherently subjective criteria for what constitutes a 'team of the decade'.

FIFA must change the rule so a red card does not result in a next-game suspension

I think it's just a, a terrible rule that if you get a red card from a game that you're also suspended for the next game. Yeah. You're already serving your punishment by, by sitting out the rest of that game and your team has to go down one player. Why do you have to sit out the next game?

This is a subjective opinion on sporting rules.
