Boxing is officially dead as a sport

Boxing's dead. It's currently dead. It might get brought back to life bad, but it's a bad spot. But boxing, boxing as we know is dead.

Subjective take on the health of a sport.

UFC would be a better sport if there were more KOs and no gloves

There should be more KOs. No gloves. Too much defense. There's too much defense. I want more. They should be standing up and just throwing fist. Be a much better sport.

This is a purely subjective aesthetic preference for the sport.

Jake Paul took mercy on Mike Tyson in their boxing match

I guess credit to Jake Paul for not knocking out Mike Tyson. ... He had no chance of winning that. And Jake Paul took mercy on his soul, which should never happen in a boxing match. ... That third round was elder abuse. That was the round where Jake Paul was like, I'm gonna start unloading. And Mike Tyson couldn't move.

While subjective, most boxing analysts and viewers agreed that Jake Paul appeared to stop pursuing a knockout after the mid-rounds.

Oleksandr Usyk was the deserved winner over Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury lost, Usyk beat him in 12 rounds. It was an awesome fight... the right fighter won... Tyson Fury's in Deep Water because I knew he's the type of guy that if you're like Tyson Fury's done. Yeah. He'll come back and he'll just knock someone else out.

Usyk won via split decision to become undisputed champion.

Ryan Garcia is the new face of boxing

Garcia was awesome and he, he might be the new face of boxing 'cause he is, he's crazy. He's like the perfect amount of crazy fun to watch. Was throwing bombs... he's something else.

Subjective, but Garcia's subsequent PED controversy and erratic behavior have polarized his 'face of boxing' status.

Mark Zuckerberg is an animal and would defeat everyone on the PMT crew in a fight

Zuck is a beast... Zuck would take us down. I hate to say it but kind of an animal. He gets smoked and he... yeah.

Without a sanctioned fight, this remains speculative.

Francis Ngannou actually won the fight against Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury, they boxed Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou this weekend... Francis Ngannou also has the, the perfect, he like champion fighters... Split decision. But a lot of people were saying that he won.

The official result was a split decision victory for Tyson Fury, making Ngannou the technical loser regardless of public opinion.

Tyson Fury was embarrassingly out of shape for the Ngannou fight

Tyson Fury always looks a little bit outta shape, but he looked so outta shape next to Ngannou. Just like they look like different species... he was the heaviest he's ever been was he? That's what they said. Which bullshit for the announcers to say that.

Fury weighed in at 277 lbs, which was actually a few pounds lighter than his previous fight against Derek Chisora (268 lbs), though he did appear less toned than usual.

Oleksandr Usyk will beat Tyson Fury when they fight for the unified heavyweight title

I actually think Usyk could beat Fury. That's why I think Fury's been trying to duck him for the big belt, for the all the belts.

Usyk defeated Fury by split decision on May 18, 2024, to become the undisputed champion.

Dimitri Bivol might be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of all time

I think Bivol might end up being one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of all time in the world. Maybe in of all time... honestly, for his legacy, which he deserves, I think he needs to fight Canelo again at 168.

Bivol is highly ranked, but 'best of all time' is a subjective and extremely high bar in boxing history.

Women's boxing is on the up and up following the electric Taylor vs. Serrano fight

Women's boxing is on the up and up. ... What we saw in the last Jake Paul card with Amanda Serrano on it is that those fights are extremely electric. ... It was the first headline by women fighters at Madison Square Garden itself in its 140 year history.

The event was a massive critical and commercial success, and women's boxing has continued to see growth in visibility.

Patty the Batty is going to be a massive star

Our colleague, Patty the Batty put on an electric show... Patty the Batty's going to be a star. I'm so excited. He choked out the guy in what, like three minutes... I just love Patty too because his haircut and just how he looks. And then he kicks your ass.

Pimblett became one of the most popular and recognizable names in the UFC shortly after.

Jake Paul would get his ass kicked and wouldn't even be able to land a punch on Canelo Alvarez

It's so funny watching [Canelo] move and the fact that there are real people out there who are like, Jake Paul's a legit boxer. Like, no, no, no. They're completely different athletes... He would never touch him. That's the part. It's not even that Canelo would hurt Jake Paul. Jake Paul wouldn't be able to punch Canelo Alvarez.

While they haven't fought, professional boxing consensus heavily favors Canelo in a mismatch against any influencer boxer.

Conor McGregor is done being a consistent threat for the UFC belt

I asked the question, is he done in terms of like – is he done being a threat for the belt consistently? It feels like that. I don't know it well enough, but it feels like that just by the fact that he's fought like three times in the last four years and one of them was an old dude who he beat and he's lost twice.

Since this take, McGregor lost to Poirier again and has not won a fight or been a serious contender for a title (as of early 2024).

Billy Football will fight Jose Canseco as my champion

I have found a champion in my place. Learn the game of Thrones, Jose. Ever heard of it? My champion is Billy Football. I will have him fight in lieu of me... Billy is fighting for my honor. He's your fall guy, right? I am a coward, hand up, whatever. But I have my champion. He is Billy Football. He will fight in my place.

The fight actually took place at Rough N Rowdy 13 on February 5, 2021. Billy Football won by TKO in the first round.

I would fuck up Jake Paul in a fight 100%

I will fuck up Jake Paul 100%. He's small. He's 5'7 at the tallest. I looked at a picture of him next to Dave Portnoy, and they were the exact same height... I have a bigger reach than Jake Paul. I would totally be able to pick him out from the outside.

Billy Football never fought Jake Paul. Jake Paul went on to defeat several professional athletes and MMA champions.

Conor McGregor's retirement is not real

But I'm sure he's not coming back. No way. In like October. No chance. Or November. Whenever Khabib's next up to fight him.

Conor McGregor did indeed come out of retirement and fight Dustin Poirier in January 2021.

Dana White should put Greg Hardy in a ring with Francis Ngannou or Stipe Miocic

I don't understand why Dana White... There are so many guys that can kick [Greg Hardy's] ass, and he keeps fighting tomato kids. Have Francis Ngannou just beat the fuck out of him. Stipe Miocic, he'd kick his ass.

When Greg Hardy finally faced elite heavyweights (like Alexander Volkov and Tai Tuivasa), he lost decisively.

Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor by submission at UFC 229 on October 6, 2018.

Manny Pacquiao's late-career fights are depressing and sad to watch

He's still fighting. So that's pretty sad. I didn't realize that he was fighting until like a day before. An aging boxer, watching them is one of the saddest things you can do. You know when it's done, and everyone knows, and then they always hang on for a couple extra years, and you're like, let's just try to remember the good times, because this is depressing the fuck out of all of us.

Subjective feeling on athlete longevity, though Pacquiao did continue to fight until 2021.

Jon Jones will easily beat Brock Lesnar if he stays clean

Jon Bones Jones, if he stays clean, he will kick the shit out of Brock Lesnar. I mean, he can fight with anyone. He will beat him up.

The fight never took place, so the outcome cannot be verified.
