The NBA offseason is officially in full swing, which means Big Cat and PFT are navigating a landscape of massive contracts and franchise-altering trades. PFT showed up to the studio in a full Wizard hat to celebrate Washington landing Trae Young, but not everyone was sharing the vibes. Brian Windhorst immediately labeled the deal one of the worst in the league, a take that PFT found more than a little disrespectful to the D.C. faithful.

Brian Windhorst is 'stupid as f***' for saying the Wizards couldn't trade Trae Young without attaching a number one pick

That is stupid as f*** of [Brian Windhorst] to say. That's just bullshit. That's just not true. Like, are you, the only way you could trade that contract if you had to, was if you had the first overall pick. No, it's not true for a lot of reasons.

This is a prediction about trade value that would only be proven if a trade actually occurred.

PFT wasn't just defending his new star out of blind loyalty; he pointed out that compared to some of the other Max deals floating around the league, the Trae Young contract is actually pretty standard for a foundational piece.

Trae Young's contract with the Wizards is not the worst in the NBA, especially compared to Joel Embiid, Paul George, or Bradley Beal

For people to jump ahead and be like, oh, this is the worst contract in the NBA, I mean, oh, oh, I'm so, it is disgusting. To say like, it's the worst contract in the NBA is a little ridiculous. Just, I can think of two off the top of my head. Joel Embiid. Paul George. Bradley Beal with the Wizards.

Subjective opinion on which NBA contract is the worst.

While the Wizards are looking up, the Bucks are left picking up the pieces after finally trading Giannis to the Heat. Big Cat wasn't impressed with the return, noting that Milwaukee's hesitation to move on sooner ultimately cost them a much larger haul of assets.

The Bucks failed the Giannis trade by waiting a year too long and getting a poor return

I feel like the Bucks screwed this up just because they, they waited a year too long. Yeah, they couldn't and, and they got a bunch of guys and picks. I mean, they got Tyler Herro. Giannis should have gotten more, the return should have been bigger for Giannis.

General consensus among analysts was often that the Bucks should have reset earlier.

The ripple effects of the Giannis trade landed squarely on Jaylen Brown, who is now stuck in no-man's land in Boston. While the trade rumors are swirling, Hank is convinced that the professional relationship between Brown and Brad Stevens will keep things from getting toxic if he stays in green.

Jaylen Brown will not have hard feelings if he stays with the Celtics despite being offered in trades

If [Jaylen Brown] knows Brad Stevens is trying to do right by him. If it doesn't happen, he's not gonna come back and play like, oh, this is bullshit. I'm back on this team. It's gonna be like, yeah, didn't work out now. But, you know, I'm back, I'm back with his team. Let's, like, he still loves Jayson Tatum, he still loves City Boston Celtics.

Subjective assessment of a player's internal feelings, though his future actions might indicate otherwise.

However, Hank isn't completely delusional about the situation. He knows that with free agency looming, the Celtics might not be done tinkering with the roster.

There is a 35% chance Jaylen Brown gets traded in the next two weeks

It could definitely, I mean it, it, it's definitely like 35% chance [Jaylen Brown] gets traded in the next two weeks.

Jaylen Brown was traded from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers on July 1st or 2nd, 2026, with the Celtics officially announcing the trade on July 6th, 2026. This occurred within the two-week window Hank specified, which ended on July 8th, 2026.

A Baker Mayfield Bombshell and USMNT Vibes

Two-time US Open champion Wyndham Clark joined the show fresh off his victory at Shinnecock, and he didn't hold back on the weird energy he felt from the New York gallery. After hearing fans cheer for his balls to hit the bunker all Sunday, he leaned into the "Bobby Clark" persona the guys pitched. But the real highlight was a total curveball regarding a certain Buccaneers quarterback. It turns out the Oklahoma State/Oklahoma rivalry was personal for Wyndham.

I hated Baker Mayfield because my girlfriend cheated on me with him, but now I'm a fan

My girlfriend at the time cheated on me with Baker Mayfield. All right. Screw it. I, I don't care. People already hate me. But here's what I will say as I've, everyone's dying as I have come to, like, I I'm actually a Baker fan now. I think he's a homie.

This is a personal anecdote shared by the guest.

Shifting from the links to the pitch, USMNT Captain Tim Ream stopped by to talk about the squad's performance in the World Cup. With Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, the team has found a new level of aggression and belief. Tim Ream made it clear that while they still call it "soccer" over here, the quality of the product is second to none.

The USMNT is the best team in the world since we call the sport 'soccer'

Yeah. I mean we're, we're the best since we call it soccer. Yeah. We're, we're the best. Why not? I think I saw somewhere the, that they were the title holders of some sort and then we beat them. So there, therefore we are the title holders as well.

Inherently subjective and playful claim.

PFT has already bought into the "Poch" era, arguing that the coach’s reputation for grinding players down is actually a feature, not a bug, when it comes to short tournament play.

Mauricio Pochettino is the perfect coach for the USMNT because he grinds his players too hard for a long season but fits a short tournament

The knock against [Pochettino] has been for his club teams that he, he runs them too hard, grinds him, works them too hard. This is the perfect scenario for a guy like that. You can burn 'em out for soccer tips. You've got just a handful of games. Get fired up, get amped up, leave it all out on the field and then go on to whatever your next job is.

Mauricio Pochettino coached the USMNT in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a short tournament. While the team advanced from the group stage and won a Round of 32 match, they were eliminated in the Round of 16 with a 'crushing 4-1 defeat' to Belgium. This outcome does not support the claim that Pochettino was the 'perfect coach' for a short tournament, leading to a deep run where the team would 'leave it all out on the field' for exceptional performance.

Mt. Rushmore and Hot Seat/Cool Throne

The guys also tackled the Mt. Rushmore of Hard to Spell Words, a segment that exposed just how much Zach and Max rely on the "red squiggle" of spellcheck. From "Pseudonym" to "Exercise," the debate proved that phonics is essentially a scam.

In Hot Seat/Cool Throne, Big Cat went after Dusty May for leaving Michigan for the Dallas Mavericks so shortly after winning a title, suggesting the college ranks were always just a layover for him.

Dusty May only coached college basketball as a stepping stone because he always wanted to be an NBA coach

Dusty May's an awesome coach and I'm happy he's outta the Big 10 and I'm happy he's outta college basketball because he probably would've kept dominating. I think Dusty May just always wanted to coach in the NBA. He said he's not looking for any other college basketball jobs. He said college basketball, not NBA, not coaching just college basketball. So yeah, I think he was always gonna do this.

Subjective intent behind a career move.

Meanwhile, PFT is officially declaring it a "Kyle Pitts Summer" after the Falcons tight end secured his extension, finally giving PFT the closure he needed to go all-in on his favorite unicorn.

I am fully back and all-in on Kyle Pitts being a beast

Kyle Pitts just got an extension. Cow Pitts is a beast. I, I'm fully, fully back all in on Cow Pitts.

Based on future player performance.

Hopefully, PFT's Wizards hat stays on through the rest of free agency, or at least until the first Trae Young logo three clanks off the back rim.

Darryn Peterson will end up being the best player from the 2026 NBA draft class

I do think that there's a chance that Darryn Peterson might end up being the best player from this draft. ... It was very much a crapshoot and you don't know exactly what you're getting based on the one year at Kansas and there's a, a huge downside potential if you take him first overall. ... I would not be surprised if Darryn Peterson is like an absolute fucking legend in a few years. And you look back and you're like, how did that happen?

Pending the career outcome of Darryn Peterson compared to the rest of his draft class.

The NFL Super Bowl should never be played in London

I don't give a f*** about the expansion of the NFL. No, it's really not. We, it's our sport. It should be played on our soil. The fact that we'll be playing a Super Bowl in London and you're gonna just be having the best time of your life is gonna make me sick.

This is a value judgment on where the game should be played.

Floyd Mayweather will face up to 20 years in prison for writing a bad check to a jeweler

A lot of times when Floyd runs into these money trouble, it's like a civil court or like some other kind of crimes that he's able to like get, get done with, with lawyers. This time they're, they're coming after him with felonies boys. 18 months ago he wrote a bad check to a jeweler New Year's Eve to get a watch for about $200,000. 18 months later he is still not responding to him. ... I'll say it. He could be doing 20 years.

Pending the outcome of Floyd Mayweather's legal issues regarding the alleged bad check.

Lionel Messi is a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo

If you're gonna ask me what camp I'm in, I'm camp Messi. I've always been that way. That's not to take away from what Ronaldo's done, I just think, you know, Messi is such a special player to watch and follow.

Inherently subjective debate.
