Clips/Suns was atrocious to watch and the Suns in 5 is looking likely as Playoff P showed up ( - ). The Waterdogs suck and someone got busted for sticky stuff ( - ). Who's back of the week including Fast 9 and Dame Lillard ( - ). Collin Morikawa joins the show to talk golf, the time he missed the ball on a shot, getting in the good graces of Mike Silver, golf feuds and more ( - ). Segments include Talking College Baseball, Stay Woke Tour De France, Big Cat gets a weird stock tip and Billy's recap.

Collin Morikawa, NBA Playoffs, and the Greatest Shot in Disc Golf History

Big Cat and PFT Commenter are grappling with the reality of Atlanta sports after Trae Young suffered a freak injury by stepping on a ref's foot. While Trae tried to pull a Willis Reed, it was the Khris Middleton legacy game that stole the show as he outscored the entire Hawks team in the fourth quarter.

The Hawks can only beat the Bucks if Kevin Huerter has an unconscious game

I also think it's going to be very tough for the Hawks to win [the series] unless you have a Kevin Huerter is unconscious game. If Red Velvet's unconscious, then you have a chance... But if you don't get him involved, then, like, what?

While Huerter had some good moments, the Bucks' overall depth and Middleton's takeover (referenced earlier in the show) were the primary factors in the series outcome.

Big Cat isn't ready to eulogize the Hawks just yet, but the writing is on the wall if they can't find a way to stop the Bucks' secondary scoring.

The Bucks will win the series against the Hawks in five or six games

I do think the Bucks are going to win this series in five or six. But... you know, who knows? Trae Young. You just got to say Trae Young at the end of everything nice you say about a Hawks opponent.

The Bucks defeated the Hawks in 6 games to advance to the NBA Finals.

Over in the West, the Suns and Clippers played one of the ugliest second halves of basketball in recent memory. Between Chris Paul looking gassed and Paul George returning to his "Playoff P" roots at the free-throw line, the guys were begging for the final buzzer. The constant reviews for out-of-bounds plays turned the final two minutes into a forty-minute saga, prompting a radical suggestion for the future of the league.

Sports would be better if we got rid of replay entirely

What if we just got rid of replay in every sport? I feel like we've gone so far in the direction of getting it right to the point where we're getting it wrong... I enjoy sports more when we're not taking all these positives... What if we just stopped reviewing everything in the NFL?

This is an inherently subjective philosophy of sports broadcasting and officiating.

PGA Champion Collin Morikawa

In-person interviews are back, and 2020 PGA Champion Collin Morikawa stopped by the studio to talk about life on the tour. Collin broke down the process of turning pro, which is apparently as simple as someone handing you a dollar for a round of golf. He also addressed the viral moment at the Memorial where he swung and completely missed the ball in the deep rough, a moment Big Cat found deeply relatable even if it did cost Collin a massive payday.

Anthony Davis is a real Laker while LeBron James is a mercenary

This LeBron thing has kind of grown on me a little bit... He's a mercenary, though. [Anthony Davis], real Laker. That guy's a real fucking Laker.

This is a subjective fan sentiment regarding 'mercenary' status in the NBA.

Collin, a noted Cal guy, discussed his relationship with fellow alum Max Homa and his thoughts on the ongoing Brooks vs. Bryson feud. While he tried to remain neutral, he couldn't help but notice that Brooks seems to stay two steps ahead in the mental game. Big Cat also made a solemn vow regarding his Sunday wardrobe that depends entirely on the health of a golf legend.

I will wear red every Sunday until Tiger Woods returns to golf

I always wear red every Sunday. Every Sunday until Tiger's back. I'm going to catch you. That's a fact. I've been doing it since he got hurt. Months. Yeah, months and months.

Big Cat did post photos of himself in red on Sundays for many weeks until Tiger's return to competitive golf at the PNC Championship and later the Masters.

Banging Chains and Cinema

Who's Back of the week featured a legendary moment in disc golf history. James Conrad's 247-foot birdie to force a playoff at the World Championships had the guys ready to crown a new king of clutch. PFT wasn't just impressed; he was ready to put the throw up against any highlight in the history of mainstream sports.

James Conrad's disc golf shot is the most clutch play in the history of any sport

I actually think that this is the most clutch play ever in the history of any sport. Name me a better shot than this... That shot was awesome.

Inherently subjective, though highly debatable given the historical stakes of the World Series, Super Bowl, or NBA Finals.

Cinema is also back thanks to *F9* crushing the box office. PFT and Big Cat debated the merits of the *Fast and Furious* franchise, with PFT offering a very specific recommendation for the optimal viewing experience of Vin Diesel's latest masterpiece.

Fast and Furious is the best movie franchise to watch while stoned

I don't think that there's a franchise of movies that's better to watch stoned in your entirety than Fast and the Furious.

Subjective opinion on cinematic experience.

Hot Seat/Cool Throne

Damian Lillard is on the Hot Seat as reports swirl that he might finally be looking for an exit from Portland. Big Cat thinks the loyalty era is over, but PFT is worried about the potential fit if Dame ends up chasing a ring with the King in Los Angeles.

Damian Lillard would not play well with LeBron James

I actually don't think that he [Lillard] would play well with LeBron. I mean, they would just win a title. But it wouldn't be fun for me to watch personally. No, it wouldn't be fun for anyone.

They never played together, so the fit remains a hypothetical debate.

Finally, the guys touched on the heartbreak of NC State being removed from the College World Series due to COVID protocols. Big Cat isn't letting a little thing like a forfeit stop him from recognizing the true champions of Omaha.

NC State are the real national champions of college baseball

NC State got screwed. Wolfpack are my national champions. They actually did a parade, and they had everyone come to the stadium. They said, we're the national champs. If UCF can do it, why can't NC State?

The official 2021 national champion is Mississippi State, but Big Cat's claim is a deliberate refusal to recognize the official result due to the circumstances.

Cristiano Ronaldo is not a top three Ronaldo

It's time that we have an honest conversation about Ronaldo. I don't even think he's a top three Ronaldo. You've got Ronaldo, you've got Ronaldinho, who is named Ronaldo... Fat Ronaldo. He's number six overall Ronaldo.

The ranking of players by name is subjective, though most soccer experts would place Cristiano Ronaldo in the top three players of all time, regardless of name.

Federico Chiesa is going to be one of the best players in the entire world

Chiesa is going to be one of the best players in the entire world. I'm just putting an eyeball stamp on it. I said that last week. Then he had that awesome goal. Chiesa, Chiesa, Chiesa.

Chiesa was one of the breakout stars of Euro 2020 (won by Italy) and became a highly-valued player at Juventus, though injuries slowed his ascent somewhat.

The Suns will beat the Clippers in five games

But yeah, it feels like it's Suns in five because Chris Paul was terrible. I think Chris Paul was also just gassed... but he ended up making just enough shots to keep them ahead.

The Suns lost Game 5 at home but closed the series in 6 games in Los Angeles.

The Waterdogs need to hire Mike Vick as their coach

I think we should contact Mike Vick about coaching the Waterdogs because it's gotten to that point. Yeah. It's gotten to that point. I'm okay with that. I hate this team. I want to make them earn their dog.

This was a comedic bit; Mike Vick was never actually contacted to coach a professional lacrosse team.

There will be a chain of custody issue with the ejected pitcher's hermetically sealed glove

My prediction, there's going to be a chain of custody issue that comes into play with the glove. The pitcher's going to peel it. He's going to get off. And Rob Manfred still won't have a head.

Hector Santiago was suspended for 10 games; there was no significant 'chain of custody' issue that overturned the ruling.

Damian Lillard will eventually be traded by the Blazers

Damian Lillard has been the exception, not the rule, in that he has remained loyal and he deserves credit. But it does feel like this is going to probably end up being a trade. I also kind of figured it would happen eventually. He's not getting younger. He's like 31 or something.

Lillard eventually requested a trade and was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in September 2023.

Ben Simmons does not love basketball

I do think Ben Simmons is probably one of those guys who falls in the camp of he's really good at basketball but probably doesn't love basketball. Because you can't love basketball and just never fix the fact that you can't shoot. Right?

Simmons' career trajectory and continued shooting struggles have made this a persistent, albeit unprovable, narrative.

Ferrari is going to be awesome in F1 next year due to new regulations

I heard on the street that Ferrari's going to be awesome. Oh, because of the new regulations or some shit. So we'll get in now, and then we look like geniuses. Just saying. That might just be big Ferrari, though.

PredictionRacingMediumSarcastic
Ferrari was indeed much better in 2022, winning multiple races early in the season and finishing 2nd in the Constructors' Championship, though they eventually fell behind Red Bull.
