Jabari Smith is the best jump shooter I have ever coached

Go ahead and doubt [Jabari Smith]. Good luck. I'm just telling you do not doubt that kid. He is one of the greatest competitors that I've ever coached. He's the best jump shooter I've ever coached, and that's actually at any position.

Jabari Smith was the #3 pick in the NBA draft and is known for his shooting ability, though 'best' is subjective.

I am the biggest Carson Wentz super fan in the world right now

I've reached this point in my bargaining stage where I think I'm the biggest Carson Wentz super fan in the world right now. I've had some time to think it through logically... Carson Wentz's ceiling is better than any quarterback in that division. Now, all we have to do is to get him to play at his ceiling on an average basis.

Hot TakeFootballHotSarcastic
Carson Wentz's tenure with the Commanders was widely considered a failure, and he was benched/released after one season.

Carson Wentz is the best quarterback in exactly 73-degree weather

The average temperature last September in Washington, DC was 73 degrees. No quarterback has performed better from a yards per attempt standpoint in exactly 73-degree weather than Carson Wentz. Top 50 quarterbacks yards per attempt and exactly 73-degree weather, he is number one, 9.71 yards per attempt.

The stat is likely a factually correct but irrelevant cherry-picked data point provided by a statistical analyst for comedic effect.

Malik Willis has the most fuckable spiral in the 2022 draft

Number one. Malik Willis. God damn moon bomb. And the thing is, I love how the ball turns over on his long balls. It points up when it's going up and when it's going down, it points down and it looks like an absolute cruise missile.

This is a subjective aesthetic judgment about the way a ball looks in the air.

Auburn felt like a special team early in the season after competing physically with Houston.

We had to play an an incredibly well coached, hard playing Houston team where we were gonna find out whether we were gonna be physical and tough enough... once we were able to beat Houston or at least be on compete with 'em, we felt like this team had a chance to be pretty special.

Auburn did indeed have a successful 2024-25 season, making a deep tournament run as Bruce Pearl predicted.

Don't play middle-of-the-pack SEC teams in the tournament

I'm just saying this. Look at some of the teams that finished in the middle of our league right now, some of the teams that are going to be seated anywhere from five to nine or 10... I'm just telling you, you do not want to play some of those teams in the NCAA tournament.

The 2022 tournament saw varied results for the SEC; Arkansas reached the Elite Eight, but high seeds like Kentucky and Tennessee were upset early.
