I’m officially retiring from the NFL unless someone offers me a two-year, $15 million contract

I quietly, I didn't tell anybody I retired. Just didn't tell anyone... I guess you guys are kind of the first to hear it publicly... I've officially retired... [unless] two for 15 million. I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Bortles did not play in the NFL again after this announcement.

Kyle Shanahan owns Sean McVay as a coach

It was a Kyle Shanahan masterclass. [Shanahan] owns Sean McVay. Obviously not the NFC Championship game, but I think it's now nine and three against the spread, Kyle Shanahan versus Sean McVay.

Historically, Shanahan has maintained a significant regular-season advantage over McVay, though the 2021 NFC Championship game remains a major outlier in the rivalry.

Pete Carroll is having more fun with Geno Smith than he did with Russell Wilson

I actually think that Pete Carroll's having more fun with Geno Smith as his quarterback. It's a combination of like, okay, weirdo Russ isn't around so I don't have to worry about placating him all the time... If I win a game with Geno Smith, that's pretty cool. If I lose, who really cares.

While subjective, the Seahawks' 2022 season was widely considered a 'fun' success where Carroll and Geno Smith appeared rejuvenated.

From a purely passer perspective, the Lions won the Jared Goff for Matthew Stafford trade

It's time to ask like who really won that trade Cat? The Rams or the Lions. ... Just from a purely passer perspective. [Big Cat: I'd want Jared Goff.]

While Stafford won the Super Bowl immediately, Goff went on to have a highly productive career in Detroit, making this a legitimate debate long-term.

I probably would have had a better long-term NFL career as a tight end

I thought early on that tight end could have been a potential better just long-term situation for my skillset and [the Jaguars] kind of pushed back on that. So I ended up playing quarterback. I had more offers to play tight end outta college than quarterback. I always thought [the skillset was fitting].

This is a retrospective hypothetical that cannot be proven.

Shaving your head and growing a beard is the only move for balding men

Shave it and grow a beard... my thing was, which I held onto it for a while... and I finally got... I found this barber... He goes 'Dude you need to just shave your fucking head.' That's, yeah, I think you're right dude. It's tough. I shave it. It was just, you know, bullied me into shaving my head.

Personal style advice is subjective.

I quietly retired from the NFL and didn't tell anyone.

I did. I heard Hank mention that the other day and I appreciate that Hank, I have not touched a football since January. I quietly, I didn't tell anybody I retired. Probably just didn't tell anyone. So I guess you guys are kind of the first to hear it publicly.

Bortles did indeed retire and has not played in the NFL since the 2021 season.
