I hope Draymond Green doesn't get suspended for the nut kick because playoff basketball is better with fights and retaliation

The question is, is Draymond going to get suspended for that kick? Because it was a crane kick. It was a Karate Kid shot to the balls. And I hope he doesn't get suspended because I'd like to see some retaliation. That's when playoff basketball really takes off is when there's fights and retaliation.

The NBA decided not to suspend Draymond for the kick in the 2016 WCF, though they upgraded it to a flagrant foul. PFT's wish for 'no suspension' came true.

People forget that Steven Adams is only 22 years old

People forget that Steven Adams is 22 years old. It's unbelievable because he looks like he's 37. It's crazy.

In May 2016, Steven Adams (born July 1993) was indeed 22.

People forget Kyrie Irving was born in Australia. So not a lot of people remember that.

Kyrie Irving was born in Melbourne, Australia, while his father was playing professionally there.

LeBron James is the first player I would pick to start a team today

If you're starting a team today... the first person I'd pick right now would still be LeBron James.

In May 2016, LeBron was about to lead the Cavs to a historic 3-1 comeback in the Finals, proving he was still the premier player in the league.

If Steph Curry loses in the finals, the public will turn on him and call him a fraud

Everybody rooted for him last year because he was the skinny kid... Now he's so confident in his abilities, people are starting to turn on him. If he loses in the playoffs or in the finals, they're going to be like, I guess he couldn't hang with the big boys. Guess he's a fraud.

The Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the 2016 Finals, and Curry was widely criticized and called 'washed' or a 'fraud' until he won more titles.

The Warriors-Thunder series will feature Russell Westbrook and Steph Curry flexing on each other and it will be awesome

This is going to be Westbrook flexing on Steph Curry, Steph Curry trying to flex on Westbrook. It's going to be awesome.

The 2016 Western Conference Finals went to 7 games and was an all-time classic, though the Warriors eventually won.

Steven Adams is a genuine mustache guy, not like the ironic losers who just talk about them

Adams is like a genuine mustache guy. And like half of his tweets are about how much he loves mustaches. Um, so I'm looking forward to seeing him and [Andrew] Bogut going at each other.

Steven Adams has maintained one of the most iconic mustaches in the NBA for his entire career.

The Cavaliers could beat the Warriors in the Finals

The entire season has been about the Warriors and then a little bit about the Spurs. The Cavs, they can do like the whole nobody believes in us shit, which is unreal with a guy like LeBron on your team. And I don't know, man. I wouldn't be shocked if they beat the Warriors. I really wouldn't.

The Cavaliers did indeed beat the 73-win Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals after trailing 3-1.

Steph Curry getting 131 media members to agree on anything is more extraordinary than his play

The news on this press conference is not that he won. It's that he managed to get 131 media people to agree to the same thing at the same time because that's far more extraordinary than scoring 17 points in an overtime game.

Curry did indeed become the first unanimous MVP in NBA history.

Does LeBron James have the 'it factor' and the 'clutch gene' to win without Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh?

My question is, does LeBron have the it factor? I don't think people are talking about this enough. He's won a couple championships, but the years that he won it, was he really the it guy? Did he really have that clutch gene? He still has to get it done on his own this postseason without the help of future Hall of Famers Dwyane Wade and [Chris Bosh].

LeBron James and the Cavaliers will win the Eastern Conference

LeBron, unfortunately, I've been through this many times. He does this every single year... then the spring comes around, and LeBron's like, 'oh, yeah, I'm LeBron,' and he just dominates everyone. But LeBron's going to win the East.

The Cavaliers won the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

Chris Bosh is a first-ballot Hall of Famer because the Basketball Hall of Fame lets everyone in

The Basketball Hall of Fame lets in basically anyone who played basketball for more than 10 years. So Bosh is a first ballot then. There's really no rhyme or reason... 50% of the basketball world is a Hall of Famer.

Chris Bosh was indeed elected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility (2021).

The Warriors' 73-win record means nothing if they don't win the championship

My thing is, the record, in my opinion, doesn't mean much if they don't win the championship. I think it's one of those things where they have to do both to be recognized as one of the best teams ever because they're both 72 and 10 team won the championship. And if they don't, then I just don't think they're on the same level.

The Warriors lost in the 2016 Finals, leading many to adopt this exact viewpoint regarding their legacy.

The Bulls will give the Celtics a really good series in the playoffs

I think the Bulls are going to give the Celtics a really good series.

The Bulls actually pulled off a massive upset in games 1 and 2 before Rajon Rondo got hurt, eventually losing the series 4-2. Big Cat was correct that it was a 'really good' (competitive) series.

Everyone in the NBA is tradable

I played this game. Everybody's tradable. It's not like – You know, some guys, you know, when you're a broadcaster, you never played. I played in the NBA. I've been traded. So it happens. It's a business.

While some superstars have no-trade clauses, historically and functionally, any player can be moved for the right price.

Buddy Hield's game is reminiscent of Michael Redd because of his size and unorthodox scoring ability

Well, his game reminds me of Michael Redd, the Ohio State player... He was a big-time scorer, about 6'4", 6'5", unorthodox, could shoot it from anywhere. He kind of reminds me of Michael Redd.

While Hield is right-handed and Redd was a lefty, both became high-volume three-point shooters and secondary scoring options in the NBA.

Buddy Hield is essentially J.J. Redick in the NBA

I think he's going to be a good pro... He can average 15 a game in the league, but... he doesn't seem that much better than J.J. Redick was though. I think Buddy will be good... but I don't know if I'd take him third.

Hield has averaged 15.5 PPG in his career and followed a similar path to Redick as a high-level shooter, making this a very accurate comparison.

Thomas Walkup will never play in the NBA

He's a 6'4 white dude who when he goes to the NBA, he'll get like his ankles broken in two seconds and dunked on. So he won't even get to go to the NBA.

Thomas Walkup went undrafted in 2016 and has never played in an NBA regular season game, though he has had a very successful career in Europe.

Virginia will cover -7 against Butler on Saturday

Saturday, the game I like the most, at least initially, I don't know how Butler scores more than 50 points against Virginia. I think that's one where you can lay the seven with the Cavaliers and feel pretty confident about doing so.

Virginia won 77-69, which is an 8-point margin, covering the -7 spread.

LeBron James is passive-aggressive and can't spell his own metaphors

That's LeBron James because J.J. Watt would never tweet anything as passive-aggressive as that... He also did spell it wrong. He said, you can't accomplish the dream if everyone isn't dreaming the same thing every day.

The quote was from a LeBron James tweet from March 2016 during a period when he was frequently posting cryptic messages.
