I am convinced that I am the best driver in the world.

I have a reputation for crashing, but there's no one here today that's gonna go faster. ... I am convinced that I'm the best driver in the world. If someone's going faster, I'm gonna like, obviously I could just do it.

The title of 'best driver' is subjective and depends on the discipline of racing.

Secretariat was definitely on steroids

I'm gonna take Secretariat. Some would say the the greatest athlete of all time. But its heart was like three times too big. We've documented that tirelessly on this show. Secretariat definitely on steroids. Randy Moss, white, Randy Moss agreed. Chances are very, very high.

OpinionRacingHotSarcastic
Secretariat's large heart was attributed to the 'X-factor' gene in an autopsy, not steroids, though the claim is a show staple.

The 'Drive to Survive' series fakes rivalries and misrepresents F1 driver personalities

I think there were a few things yeah where I was not really happy with. And especially, you know, faking rivalries between drivers. That to me is a tough one because of course it did wonders in America. But also I think sometimes they portray a few drivers differently to how they actually are. And then of course the people who are new to F1 think, oh, this guy is a bit of a Dick or whatever. Which in real life is not.

Producers of DTS have admitted to using creative editing to heighten drama, and several other drivers (including Norris) have backed Max's claims about misrepresentation.

Red Bull is cheating in Formula 1

I've found my perfect niche niches that I don't watch any second of the race. And then just say someone cheated after. Cause it was great. It was like, I didn't watch a second a Monaco. And then I was like red bull cheats.

Fact ClaimRacingHotSarcastic
In late 2022, Red Bull was indeed found to have committed a 'minor' breach of the 2021 budget cap, leading to a fine and penalty. While he's joking here, the spirit of the claim proved true.

Max Verstappen was at fault for the crash with Lewis Hamilton at Monza

Max's car is literally on Lewis's head, and he just walked away... I said Max is a jerk... Max obviously drives to the edge... I would say my rule of thumb is nine times out of 10. If you drive over another guy's head, it's probably your fault.

F1 stewards officially ruled Verstappen was 'predominantly to blame' for the incident and handed him a three-place grid penalty for the next race.

Mercedes' current F1 strategy is intentionally taking out Red Bull at every turn

Mercedes, essentially their strategy now is just take out Red Bull at all times, which is sick. And then yeah, Lewis Hamilton, Sir Lewis Hamilton is the goat.

This is a satirical take on the crash incidents in the 2021 season; there is no factual evidence it was a deliberate team strategy.

I am 'mojacked' than Tyrann Mathieu

I think I'm definitely mojacked than Tyrann. I respect the fact that you said that. I'm actually glad you said it, but I don't think he would agree. I feel I would get squashed in an instant, but...

Tyrann Mathieu is a pro football safety; Ricciardo is a lean F1 driver. It's meant as a joke.

If I could do it all over again, I might not choose to be an F1 driver because of the lack of control

If I could do it all over again, like, I don't know if I would pick this sport [F1] because there's so many other variables and so much out of your control. So you could perform perfectly and something might end it for you.

This is an internal personal reflection on career choice and cannot be verified.

Christian Horner's obsession with Max Verstappen is 'weird as fuck'

Christian Horner... he is obsessed with Max [Verstappen] and obviously rightfully so but it's it's a little weird sometimes he talks about him like he is his son and there is some some serious love there. [Ricciardo]: Yeah. No, it's weird as fuck.

This is a subjective observation of interpersonal relationships within the Red Bull team.

Medina Spirit will almost certainly be disqualified from the Kentucky Derby

If the split sample comes back, the second sample that Baffert is sending out to verify the presence of beta-methasone in the horse's system, if it comes back positive, the horse is going to be disqualified almost certainly from the Kentucky Derby... I feel pretty confident in saying that the horse will probably be disqualified.

In February 2022, Medina Spirit was officially disqualified from the 2021 Kentucky Derby.

The medication in Medina Spirit's system made zero difference in the Kentucky Derby outcome

The amount of beta-methasone that he had in his system absolutely positively in my opinion and according to the opinion of some of the top veterinarians that I've talked to made zero difference whatsoever in the way the horse ran in the derby. It was one one millionth of a gram... There's no way that it had any impact at all on the way he ran.

While scientifically supported by many vets due to the low dosage, it remains technically a violation and the causal effect is debated by regulators.

Free Bob Baffert

Either way, free Bob Baffert. There's a lot of things wrong with horse racing. Bob Baffert isn't one of them.

Essential Quality will NOT win the 2021 Kentucky Derby

I can't tell you who I'm going to pick, but it's not Essential Quality.

Essential Quality finished 4th (eventually 3rd after disqualification), so Moss was correct that he did not win.

[I'll win] four more. That would be sweet. Yeah four more would be getting six times [total].

As of 2024, Busch still has 2 championships (2015, 2019). He hasn't won another since this take.

Justify's Triple Crown should be vacated because the horse is a cheater

Justify is a cheater. The horse. I hope you're sitting down... Horse racing is not on the up and up. Justify tested positive for using a banned substance... As far as we know, Justify is guilty as sin, and his triple crown win should be, what, vacated? Are we doing that? I would like my money back.

While there were reports of a failed drug test (scopolamine), the California Horse Racing Board dismissed the case and the Triple Crown has not been officially vacated.

NASCAR crew chiefs must bend or break the rules to be successful

If you take a car that's legal from front to back, completely legal through the rule book, you're not going to run very well. You're not going to do well. And the crew chiefs, the crew chief that I want, the team that I want, are the ones that are willing to gamble and be aggressive with the rules, bend the rules, maybe break a few rules, because I know that that's what I'm competing against.

This aligns with common knowledge in motorsports about finding 'grey areas'.

Joey Logano is a 'baby back bitch' for blocking me on Twitter after I called him 'Slowy Slogano'

My other who's back is that baby back bitch, Slowy Slogano, who blocked me on Twitter for calling him Slowy Slogano. How soft is that? He basically tweeted and said, 'I had a great car, but sometimes it doesn't break your way,' which is a classic... So I filled it in for him, and then he blocked me.

The fact that Logano blocked Big Cat is a verifiable event, but the characterization of him as a 'baby back bitch' is subjective.

NASCAR drivers should be allowed to wreck cars during high-speed police chases

The only sweet move I've ever seen while driving on the road was literally a police chase that passed me. I so wanted to wreck him. Because I knew... I'm like, I wanted to wreck the shit out of this guy. I know how to wreck someone safely. [PFT says I should be deputized] I agree. That would be so awesome and I'm going to work on that.

Dying as a champion racehorse is better than living as an old-timer in a pasture

I would say that that's more of a hurt [than an injury] because if you die a legend like that after winning a race, your legacy lives on longer than anybody else... You don't remember him as some old-timer getting jerked off in a pasture somewhere.

This is a philosophical, satirical opinion about horse legacy.

Danzing Candy is a possible upset pick to lead the Kentucky Derby from start to finish

On the front end, a horse that's going to be about 20, 30 to 1 and has a shot is a horse called Danzing Candy... He'll be on the lead. They'll probably leave him alone on the lead. ... that's a recipe for a possible upset.

Danzing Candy finished 20th (last) in the 2016 Kentucky Derby.
