I'm counting Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon loss as his 25th major because Jannik Sinner is a cheater

I'm counting this as Novak Djokovic's 25th major because he played [Sinner] better than Alcaraz played [Sinner]. And [Sinner] is a sinner and he's a cheater. So therefore Ipso Facto Djokovic is the goat 25th major Grand Slam championship.

Djokovic literally lost the final (to Alcaraz in 2024, but the transcript frames it around Sinner). Djokovic did not win a 25th major at this event.

Novak Djokovic will win Wimbledon 2025 but it will be his last major title

I think Novak wins this. Yes. I really do. I think this is, I think this is the last thing. He gets to 25 majors and I think this is the last one he wins. ... I don't think he can win a slam outside of Wimbledon anymore.

The Wimbledon 2025 final takes place two days after this episode; the second part of the take is a long-term retirement prediction.

Jannik Sinner's steroid excuse about a trainer's massage is complete bullshit

The explanation is his trainer... accidentally sliced his thumb. And then used one of those new skin type sprays on his cut... and then later on in the day, gave Sinner a full body massage. And that's how the chemical got onto Sinner's body. If an agency is named [the International Tennis Integrity Agency], it's explicitly corny. There's no better mark that that agency is completely full of shit.

Whether the excuse is literally true is disputed, but PFT's claim is an opinion on its credibility. Sinner was cleared of wrongdoing by the ITIA.

ESPN will rank Serena Williams as the #1 athlete of the 21st century

I have a prediction. I think ESPN is going to put Serena [Williams] number one. Just to make people mad.

Serena Williams was ranked #2. Michael Phelps was ranked #1.

If a sovereign wealth fund offered tennis a billion dollars for a 'PIF Tour,' tennis would accept it in a heartbeat

If some guy who controls some country's money says, oh, I want to give the NBA players a billion dollars... the PJ Tour set a hell of a precedent. A sport like tennis is a good, I think, example. Tennis is really great for the top 20 players, but there's not nearly as many players making a good living in tennis as there is in golf. If the Saudis came to tennis and said, here's a bunch of this money, let's make it the PIF tour, they would say yes in a heartbeat.

Since this take, the ATP and WTA have held major events in Saudi Arabia and the PIF has signed a 'strategic partnership' with the ATP, confirming the trend.

Novak Djokovic will finish his career with 30 major championships

[Djokovic] is gonna end up with 30.

Djokovic currently has 24 majors (as of mid-2024). He needs 6 more to reach 30.

Novak Djokovic would have won the Australian Open if he hadn't been deported

Djokovic would've won. He would have kicked the shit out of everyone because he doesn't have the vax... it would have been a real big win.

Djokovic was the #1 seed and defending champion, but since he didn't play, this can never be proven.

Novak Djokovic is the GOAT of tennis over Roger Federer

I hate to say this but Novak's got two slams in 2019. Federer has none. So he's better right now... he is the goat. All right, and he beat him in Wimbledon. No big deal.

Whether someone is the GOAT is an inherently subjective debate, though Djokovic eventually surpassed Federer in Slam count.

Novak Djokovic is the Tennis GOAT

Djokovic is the GOAT. [Adnan: No, you're brutal.] How much does it suck to root for a guy [Federer] who keeps losing to Djokovic?

Djokovic went on to set the record for most Grand Slams and weeks at Number 1, making this take increasingly correct.

Pete Sampras's 14 majors were more impressive than the era of Federer and Djokovic because Sampras was so much better than his peers

Sampras's [majors] were more impressive... Sampras was just that much better than everybody else that he was playing at the time.

A classic sports debate metric that can't be objectively resolved.

Pete Sampras is the tennis GOAT

I was actually rooting for Djokovic too because the more that you can poke holes in Federer's resume, the more you can say Sampras is the GOAT. ... He is the goat. Sampras is the goat.

While subjective, Sampras's 14 titles have been eclipsed by Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer, making this a minority view today.

Locking a tennis player in a ball closet for hours is great coaching

[David Ferrer's coach] locked him in a completely dark two meter by two meter ball closet for several hours, giving him only a piece of bread and a bit of water... That's great coaching. That's a football guy in a tennis guy's body.

The effectiveness of such 'coaching' is highly debatable and culturally specific, making it a subjective opinion.

The controversy between Raymond Moore and Serena Williams was a staged 'work'

I'm thinking that this guy [Raymond Moore] and Serena were in cahoots. And this was like, let's just get a little buzz going... I think this is all – I think it's a work.

There is no evidence the comments were staged; Moore resigned shortly after due to the backlash.
