Willie McGinest on the Patriot Way and the End of Berserker Billy
We are officially balls deep in the summer, and Big Cat is starting to feel the pressure of the sports calendar. With the NBA bubble in full swing and MLB trying to get off the starting blocks, it feels like the fate of the next year is being decided right now.
The next two weeks are make-or-break for the return of sports
I feel like this next week and a half, two weeks, is going to be make or break for the next six months to a year. We have baseball hopefully starting next Thursday, basketball bubbles going, scrimmages about to start, hockey, and then training camp. If these can go off without a hitch, I think we're back.
While we wait for the actual games, Madden ratings are out to provide the necessary outrage. Big Cat is understandably losing his mind over Mitch Trubisky’s disrespect in the virtual world.
Mitch Trubisky's 75 rating in Madden 21 is insane
Mitch Trubisky's a 75 in the new Madden. Insane. He was 79 last year. Goddamn.
Hot Seat/Cool Throne
Hank is riding with Michael Beasley for his hot seat after a very short-lived bubble stint, but the real debate broke out over the Will Smith "entanglement" saga. Hank is convinced the 50 Cent DMs were authentic, while everyone else with a functioning brain realizes 50 is just the king of Instagram trolling.
The text exchange between 50 Cent and Will Smith about Jada's 'entanglement' was real
I would bet money that it was real... Because it's 50 Cent and he's absolutely reckless. He's reckless.
Meanwhile, PFT is looking at the animal kingdom for some tactical analysis. After seeing a video of a bear swinging nunchucks, he’s convinced we are only steps away from a total primate takeover of the military.
If a bear can use nunchucks, a gorilla can fly a Black Hawk helicopter
It turns out that bears actually can use weapons... If a bear can pick up a nunchuck, a gorilla can pick up a fucking rocket launcher. A gorilla would be able to fly like a Black Hawk helicopter if a bear is able to use these martial art weapons.
The Ford Bronco is officially back, but Big Cat is warning everyone to stay away from the first batch of models. He'd rather stick to the classics than be a test dummy for a first-year release.
You should never buy the first model year of a new car release like the Ford Bronco
You have to let a couple models go before you hop in. If you just buy the first Bronco, there's probably going to be shit blowing up and weird stuff happening. I would rather die looking stylish in an old one than a new one.
PFT also has a theory about the chaos surrounding the Washington football team. Between the name change rumors and the Washington Post investigations, he smells a massive power play from a certain billionaire.
Jeff Bezos is using the Washington Post's investigation to force a sale of the Redskins so he can buy the team
Jeff Bezos has wanted to buy the Redskins for the last, like, three years. Is this like a billion-style coup? So it's not billionaires versus billionaires. This is like mega billionaires versus billionaires.
Willie McGinest
Three-time Super Bowl champ Willie McGinest joined the show to give us some much-needed optimism about the upcoming season. According to Willie, the league is moving full steam ahead.
The 2020 NFL season is definitely happening
All indications point that there is definitely going to be an NFL season, and we are preparing for that as the NFL... Everything that I'm told is that we are definitely having an NFL season.
We spent a lot of time on the Patriot Way and why guys like Matt Patricia struggle to replicate it elsewhere. Willie gave some great insight into why Tom Brady ultimately decided to pack his bags for Tampa Bay, citing a lack of long-term security in New England.
Tom Brady left New England because he wanted long-term contract insurance the Patriots wouldn't give him
I think the fact that Tom wanted some long-term insurance, he felt like he had a lot left in the tank... and the fact that the Patriots probably offered something that he wasn't comfortable with... I think Tom has been feeling some kind of way for the last couple of years that he's been wanting to get that reinsurance from the organization.
As for the new-look Patriots, Willie is high on Cam Newton. He thinks the MVP version of Cam is still in there, and the chip on his shoulder might be exactly what Bill Belichick needs to prove there's life after Brady.
Cam Newton will prove he's still an MVP with the Patriots
Cam now has a huge chip on his shoulder and he's in a position to go to a great organization and prove that he still can be Cam Newton, the MVP that we saw a couple of years ago... If he buys into [the Patriot Way], he can be a part of something really good.
Dungeons and Dragons: The Execution of Billy Football
If you have been waiting for Billy Football to get his comeuppance for trying to join the dragons and murder the rest of the crew, this was your Super Bowl. Tim Woods returned to DM the final showdown between the party and Berserker Billy.
After a failed attempt to charm his way out of it, Billy tried to fight back against Norm the Barbarian and Wayne the Bard. It didn't go well. Big Cat (Norm) went reckless to deliver a massive blow, and Hank (Ehrlich) finished the job with a critical hit that was as graphic as it was satisfying. Billy is officially dead and out of the game, replaced by Jake as a frail elf wizard who actually knows how to take notes.
Next time we might try to fuck a dragon in Billy's honor, but for now, we're just glad the traitor is gone.
