Playoff baseball, a Bills-Rams thriller, college football chaos, and two guests with very strong opinions make this a properly overloaded Wednesday show. Big Cat also finds time to conduct a full public funeral for Titans fans, Hank declares war on reality, and PFT builds an Ohtani conspiracy out of dates on a calendar. A normal day at the office.
The Brewers Have A Plan
The Guardians and Rays split the first two games, which meant Cleveland escaped Tampa with exactly what it needed: a series tied 1-1 and a trip back to a real baseball city. The Tropicana Field discussion quickly became an architectural grievance. Every fly ball turns into a game of “did it hit the rings?” and PFT suggested putting an umpire in the rafters to monitor the ceiling. Star Fox has officially entered the ALCS discourse.
The real headline was Milwaukee jumping out to a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers. The Brewers grinded down Yamamoto, kept finding the big hit, and looked like the team that had been waiting a full year for this rematch. Big Cat, who insists he is not jinxing anything, put the championship prediction on the record.
The Brewers are winning the World Series
Just get used to it. The Brewers are gonna win the World Series.
PFT's version was more psychological. The Dodgers were supposed to have all the stars, all the money, and all the Cy Young-caliber pitchers. Instead, Milwaukee looked like it had circled this matchup in permanent marker while Los Angeles was expecting to casually win another World Series.
The Brewers have the Dodgers beaten psychologically
I feel like Brewers kind of got 'em where they want him psychologically—two in a row, started the series off, and the Dodgers are panicking now.
Josh Allen, Special Teams, And The Rams' Weird Disease
Bills-Rams delivered on every bit of the hype, with Josh Allen running like a quarterback who had personally decided the game was not allowed to end. Matthew Stafford kept feeding Puka Nacua, the Rams piled up yards and first downs, and then Los Angeles found a familiar way to lose: special teams.
Big Cat's diagnosis is that this is not one bad kicker or one unlucky block. The Rams have a philosophical allergy to special teams, and it keeps showing up in the exact games where a single mistake decides everything.
Rams special teams will keep costing them big games
The special teams is just atrocious and every single year they do this and every single year it costs them in a high-leverage game. And it's just the same thing over and over.
PFT still thinks the Rams are fine, mostly because their schedule gets softer and because the NFL apparently gives Sean McVay unlimited opportunities to learn the same lesson. He recommended the over on 10.5 wins, while Hank maintained that the Bills are just the same good-but-not-good-enough team they have been for seven years. Josh Allen remains the cape, the legs, the brain, and possibly the entire roster.
Hot Seat, Cool Throne, And A Funeral For LIV
Hank's Hot Seat was the entire Bay Area after Kristaps Porzingis mysteriously disappeared from the Warriors, which he connected to Brandon Aiyuk's previous Bay Area vanishing act. PFT approved of the theory because Porzingis is exactly the type of player who can turn a mystery absence into a recurring franchise tradition.
Then came Hank's Cool Throne: LIV Golf, which he read a prepared statement about before Big Cat cross-examined him on whether he regretted passionately promoting a league that never paid him. Hank's answer was essentially “I would have regretted turning down five million dollars,” which is the most honest possible defense of golf media.
Liv Golf is dead
Liv is dead. This is it. That I will ever bring up Liv 2.0 is dead.
PFT later put Shohei Ohtani on the Hot Seat and connected his slump to the investigation into Dodgers owner Mark Walter. The theory began with a suspicious August 17/August 18 timeline and ended with PFT wondering if Ohtani was distracted by whether his money actually existed. Big Cat lost him at “IPE,” but still agreed that something was up.
Shohei Ohtani's slump started when the Dodgers owner came under investigation
What is going on truly with Shohei? You look at when this cold streak started, and it was August 18th. The Los Angeles Lakers were sold on August 17th, and I believe news of the investigation kind of hit a peak shortly thereafter. I just think it's interesting timing.
Titans Fans Need A Group Hug
Big Cat read through a list of Titans disasters since the A.J. Brown trade, and it was less a Hot Seat segment than a public service announcement. Tennessee has endured terrible records, Derrick Henry immediately thriving elsewhere, Malik Willis beating them shortly after being traded, the disappearance of Lance Smith, and the loss of the Greek mythology branding. At some point, the Titans were no longer even allowed to have a theme.
The Titans have suffered more than any NFL fan base
The Titans have the worst record in the NFL at 19 and 54 since trading A.J. Brown. That's a lot of losses. Not a lot of wins.
The Eagles, meanwhile, have Big Dom promising a turnaround from the stage. Memes treated the declaration like a presidential address and immediately called the Panthers game a must-win. Big Dom says the Eagles will be fixed, and that is apparently enough to move the betting line and restore Philadelphia's national championship hopes for at least 72 hours.
Brandon Walker Brings The SEC Receipts
Brandon Walker arrived ready to admit that Oregon was a disastrous national championship pick, although he did spend some time arguing that the Oklahoma State game was a coaching failure and that Dylan Raiola was the more immediate problem. His Georgia pick, however, remains alive and extremely loud.
Georgia is winning the 2026 national championship
Liam Bluman last year in the season said, whoever wins 2025 doesn't matter. Georgia's winning 2026 national title. And I think he's right. I think that's how good they are.
The Texas conversation was even better. Arch Manning has all the talent, all the famous bloodlines, and a defense good enough to carry him, but Brandon said Texas cannot survive another catastrophic quarterback mistake against a real defense. He also questioned whether Steve Sarkisian has actually developed Manning at all.
Texas has no quarterback or coach to overcome a great defense
It scares the shit out of me if I'm a Texas fan, because all I know is if we show up and there's a good defense on the other side, a very good defense, I don't have the quarterback and I don't have the coach that's gonna overcome it.
Brandon then admitted something that should get him exiled from several SEC group chats: the rankings are inflated by SEC bias. He still likes Alabama to finish 11-1, thinks Ole Miss will beat Missouri comfortably, and believes Texas will somehow survive the Big 12 despite not impressing him. The Big 12 remains a conference where every team has one thing you like and three things that make you want to turn the television off.
He also predicted that the American could eventually be on par with the Big 12, especially with James Madison joining the league. JMU's next move is apparently not just conference realignment. It is a long-term hostile takeover.
Bill Burr Hates The Modern Sports Product
Bill Burr joined in studio to promote *The Social Reckoning*, but naturally spent a healthy portion of the interview explaining why sports are ruining themselves. He is furious about underthrown passes, baseball players arguing with balls and strikes when they could simply challenge the call, and MLB celebrating second- and third-place teams like they just won the World Series.
Baseball's expanded playoffs are a money grab
The divisional round of the playoffs, you're seeing these guys shaking up champagne. It's like, dude, this is a money grab by MLB. It's a second- and third-place team. They were seven, eight games out of first and they made the playoffs.
His NBA solution was even more aggressive: remove the three-point line until the final two minutes of each quarter, then turn it back on and force everyone to remember what a pick-and-roll is. Bill wants backdoor cuts, post moves, and actual dunks instead of seven-footers standing 29 feet away from the basket waiting to become content.
The NBA should turn on the three-point line only late in quarters
I would get rid of the defensive three-second rule. I'd get rid of the three-point line until the final two minutes of each quarter. Then it lights up, then you can take your threes. And we get back to pick-and-rolls, give-and-goes and backdoor passes and actually dunking on somebody.
Bill also went to a WNBA game with his daughter and came away fully converted. His review: the players are competitive, the games are fun, and everyone appears to hate everyone else. That is not a complaint. That is the sales pitch.
The Patriots portion featured Bill defending Drake Maye from the “fraud” conversation and blaming the offensive line, the run game, and the defense getting exhausted by constant three-and-outs. He also argued that a two-point conversion is psychologically just two touchdowns smashed together, so everyone should stop pretending it is easy and kick the extra point.
The interview eventually got much more personal. Bill talked about mushrooms, breathwork, anger, therapy, and realizing that old emotions he thought were buried were actually sitting right there waiting for him. He described finally feeling lighter after confronting the stuff he had carried for decades, then immediately compared it to the Berlin Wall coming down and everyone realizing they still had to deal with the next problem. Very Bill Burr: emotional breakthrough, followed by geopolitical disappointment.
Jerry Jones Leaves A Print On The Window
Guys On Chicks featured Jerry Jones telling a story about a Green Bay fan who pulled her pants down beside his car after a Cowboys win, pressed herself against the window, and left a frozen print behind. Jerry called her “pretty hefty,” which is Jerry's way of saying the imprint had structural significance.
The show closed with dating advice for someone crushing on a bartender, a former girlfriend's close-friends Instagram trap, and a reminder that Big Cat pays Dom to like Mikey Bets' Instagram stories. That is the real social reckoning.
Somewhere, a Titans fan is staring at a Greek mythology logo that no longer exists, while Big Dom gets the Eagles ready for the Panthers and the Brewers prepare to ruin everyone's October. Perfectly normal Wednesday.
