Takes
The Denver Broncos have played like an elite, top-tier AFC team over the last month
If the season had started four weeks ago, we'd be talking about the Broncos as being one of the best teams in the entire [NFL] itself. They are playing good enough to be like, well they've beaten some good teams. We think they are amongst the elite class of the AFC but unfortunately for them, the first month and a half of the season happened.
Brandon Staley will be fired during the season
I think he's probably candidate number one for in season firing... It feels like it's happening soon.
The Chargers aren't underachieving, they just aren't good
I don't think you can say that the Chargers are underachieving anymore. No, I think the Chargers are just the Chargers. Yeah. They're just the C words.
Brandon Aiyuk deserves to be considered an elite WR1
Brandon Aiyuk, he deserves more credit for being an incredible wide receiver. He doesn't get talked about in that wide receiver one conversation because there's so much talent around him, but he is awesome. Awesome.
I am officially buying back in on the Rams as a potential playoff team
Rams-Seahawks, Rams was my pick on Friday. I said I was gonna buy back in on the Rams even though I said they sucked a couple weeks ago. Matt Stafford gamer, throwing dimes in the second half... now the Rams, I don't think, like we go back to someone's gotta get that seven seed in the NFC... the Rams, if they put together a couple wins, I think they have the Cardinals next. They could maybe flirt with it.
The Bills will make the Super Bowl and lose to the Cowboys
My overly direct take is that I think the Bills are gonna make the Super Bowl... And then lose to the Cowboys... I think they're gonna rally and and make a deep run.
The Chiefs -2.5 against the Eagles is stealing money
My overly direct take Max is the Chiefs minus two and a half tonight stealing money. Patrick Mahomes at home. Andy Reid off of bye can't [lose]. All they gotta do is win the game pretty much.
Joe Flacco will lead the Browns to an AFC North title
My overly direct take guys, is that Joe Flacco will lead the Cleveland Browns to an AFC North Division Championship.
Jayden Daniels should and will win the Heisman
Jayden Daniels. Eight touchdowns against Georgia State... He is now the favorite to win the Heisman... I don't think that you can honestly make a case that it should be anybody except for Jayden Daniels.
Jim Harbaugh will leave Michigan for the NFL after this season
I think that him accepting his punishment is a sign. He might be on the outs, which I'm excited for. Except he might go to the Chargers, which I'm not excited for.
The Bengals' season is effectively over following Joe Burrow's wrist injury.
Joe Burrow looks to be out for a very long time. I, it is a UCL injury. Couldn't grip the football. Just the biggest bummer. And now it looks like we will not get the Bengals or Joe Burrow, more importantly Joe Burrow in the playoffs... the Bengals season is over.
Joe Flacco winning a Super Bowl with the Browns is the best potential outcome for the season.
What a story that would be, huh? Oh, if Joe Flacco came in, handed the ball off for 90% of the time, threw 12 passes a game and the Browns won the Super Bowl. Yes. I think that's what I'm rooting for now.
The NFL injury reporting system is a joke that may eventually lead to congressional hearings.
Florio said, meanwhile, the NFL injury reporting system is a joke as evidenced by Burrow's wrist injury being hidden. The joke will be on the NFL when Congress calls a hearing or a prosecutor convenes a grand jury. I would love to see that... if you want to get people behind you just bring Roger Goodell up and make him testify under oath.
Deshaun Watson's $230 million guaranteed contract is going to be one of the worst in NFL history.
Deshaun Watson is gonna be in the running for worse contracts of all time. $200 million guaranteed has not been able to stay on the field. The Browns have a roster that is Super Bowl worthy, and now he's missing the rest of the year. And they're going to be having to fend off the AFC north with DTR, PJ Walker.
Baker Mayfield was the best thing to ever happen to the Cleveland Browns.
Do you think people are coming around to the take that Baker Mayfield was the best thing that's ever happened to the Browns and they should never have let him go?
Josh Dobbs is the ultimate 'fix-it' quarterback for struggling NFL teams.
There are so many teams right now being like Josh Dobbs could fix all of our problems. If the Jets had Josh Dobbs, they would be a playoff team... he basically is the guy that everyone looks to and is like, he could solve everything.
The Miami Dolphins are officially off the NFL 'Fraud List'.
I think I'm ready to take Miami off the fraud list. They won't do it this week, but I'm gearing up for them to be off the fraud list because I'm thinking that their defense is gonna start playing really well... I'm ready to push the button and say no longer fraud.
Sam Howell has already surpassed 'the guy' status and is entering the elite conversation.
I might've just jumped past the whole Is he the guy conversation? I'm ready to ask if he's elite. Because there's as many insult graphics have been going around, there's a lot of, there's a lot of complimentary graphics going around about Sam Howell. Elite. He's first in big time throws.
The Chargers should not be favored on the road against any NFL team right now.
I hate this game so much because the Packers are bad, but the Chargers shouldn't be favored on the road against anyone. I know the Chargers are better than the Packers, but if you tell me you have to put your life on the line for the Chargers to be able to like maneuver a road game and win by exactly three or more, I couldn't do that. Something weird is gonna happen.
The Bears are no longer one of the 'truly terrible' teams in the NFL.
The bears are not as bad as people think they are. They are. They're [not] the worst teams in the league... which are the Panthers, the giants, maybe the Patriots, the Cardinals... I think the Bears are a step above that. They get lumped in there. They've actually been playing really good defense.
The Jaguars are going to get right and 'kill' the Titans this weekend.
Titans, the Jaguars, I think this is a get right for the Jaguars I think are gonna kill the Titans. I was looking at it. The Will Levis, who we believe in, he went up against the Falcons, the Steelers, the Bucks all bottom of the half in the league in terms of coverage. Now they're going up against the Jaguars who are actually good in coverage this year. I think it's gonna be a long day for the Titans.
The Texans might be susceptible to a 'read your press clippings' letdown game against the Cardinals.
CJ Stroud is incredible. I'm a little nervous about the Texans in this game because... The win against the Bengals it it hit that critical mass of, now it's MVP for CJ Stroud Texans in the playoffs. It might be a read your press clippings type of game.
Israel Abanikanda is set to take over the Jets' backfield.
Izzy season? Izzy, the running back. They released Michael Carter and they're giving Izzy a shot. The bills can't stop the run... I'm gonna have to bet on him to score fucking a Memes.
Every remaining game for the Bills this season is officially a must-win.
I'm going to declare that every game for the rest of the season is a must win for the bills. I would say so. I think they might be able to get one more loss. I'm gonna say it's a must win though. You can't, the the margin error is too small. It's a must win.
I am officially buying back in on the Rams now that Matthew Stafford is healthy.
I think I'm ready to buy back in on the Rams. Healthy Stafford. This also is one of those spread games that makes no sense to me. Seahawks are six and three. The Rams are bad. The Rams are one point underdog, huh? Somebody knows something. I just, I I think the Rams are gonna win this game.
The Rams will exceed their win total and make the playoffs.
He [Whitworth] already said the Rams are making the playoffs this year. He still stands by it. I think they're gonna win more than seven and a half games this year.
LSU is a more difficult school to graduate from in four years than Harvard.
LSU, four years would be Tough. Man's a lot. I mean, you got two years of being incoherent... you're not worried about Fred's and Bogey and Tiger Land [at Harvard]... LSU [is harder].
I am sticking with my preseason prediction of a Bengals vs. 49ers Super Bowl.
I actually took the Niners Bengals as my Super Bowl matchup. So the first six weeks of the season I was not a happy camper. But they finally got it going and now we're kind of looking like we're headed that direction. I love it. So I'm, I'm on the train again that I still think it's Bengals Niners.
I have been predicting a Ravens vs. 49ers Super Bowl all season.
And I've had Ravens Niners all year.
The Falcons will claim the final playoff spot in the NFC.
I'm gonna say Atlanta [makes the playoffs]. I like Heineke. He plays a fun brand of football.
The Washington Commanders will make a playoff run in the NFC.
I think Washington's gonna make a run. I like Washington making a run... I think Sam Howell's the guy is only getting better. I truly believe that.
The Eagles do not want to face the Commanders in the first round of the playoffs.
If Washington makes the playoffs and they get matched up against the Eagles in the first round, Eagles don't wanna play the Commanders first. Commanders compete [with] the Eagles in the first round of the playoffs.
Sam Howell is the poor man's version of Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Sam Howell is a poor man's Ryan Fitzpatrick. I didn't know that. If you look at his bank account, come on baby.
The Buffalo Bills stink and will not make the playoffs this year
The Buffalo Bills stink. They might be dead... I don't think they're gonna be in the playoffs. They have a really tough schedule. They're five and five...
The Buffalo Bills' championship window is officially closed
You gotta talk window. That's closed. I think they're about to jump out of the window.
Josh Allen must have a 'come to Jesus' moment regarding his turnovers
Josh needs to have like a come to Jesus moment of like, Hey, I can't be a superhero in on every single play. I have to take care of the football better because you're putting your defense in a bad spot. You're putting your team in a bad spot when you throw those type of interceptions.
Russell Wilson looks like a winning quarterback again under Sean Payton
Russell Wilson actually does look good... he is playing, winning football and making plays with his feet and making nice passes and not making the mistakes.
Benching a starting running back for a single fumble makes no sense in the modern NFL
Why would you bench your guy [James Cook]? He basically sat one of your key parts of your team because he fumbled the ball in the first play. It makes no sense. Coaches have doghouses for running backs... maybe if it was a recurring thing, but James Cook is a good player. It didn't really make a lot of sense.
Any offensive coordinator who calls a shotgun play on 4th and 1 should be fired immediately
The fourth and one shotgun... why? Any team that's in fourth and one and goes shotgun should the OC should be fired right away. I hate that. You have to get one yard and you're like, 'now let's get seven yards.' It's crazy. It's crazy.
Michigan is 'America's Team' because they rely on clandestine surveillance
America loves the team that beats the odds, beats the adversity... well they yeah, they do rely on a network of clandestine surveillance to accomplish everything. I can see why that would align with the USA.
The Big 10 is incompetent for suspending Jim Harbaugh before a national title run
The Big 10 was wrong for what they did... if you think that Michigan did something wrong, I'm gonna most likely agree with you... but due process still does matter. It was such a half measure, half-ass thing by the Big 10 that it leaves me with no other conclusion than the Big 10 has no idea what they're doing and they're just trying to save face.
The Big 10 should give Michigan and Ohio State special treatment because they are the conference's 'breadwinners'
Life is not fair. If you're Tony Petitti, this is different. If it was Rutgers, if it was Purdue, if it was Wisconsin, yes. That's different than Michigan... Michigan and Ohio State are different than the rest of the Big 10. And you need to treat them like they are different... you have to prop up your big time breadwinners.
James Franklin is a soft coach who will never win big games at Penn State
James Franklin... he's never gonna win the big one... he's not going anywhere [because of his contract]... but it's just gonna be the same thing. You'll get to the 12 team playoff and then you'll just see what happens against Ohio State and Michigan... He plays so soft. He coaches so soft.
The Texas A&M head coaching position is the worst job in college football
I don't know what Texas A&M does now, because I think that might be the worst job in college football... the expectation is they're so crazy... you have to take that job knowing you're gonna get paid a lot of money and you're probably gonna fail because... the bar that they want to be at is so disconnected from where they are.
Jayden Daniels should win the Heisman Trophy
Jayden Daniels should be the Heisman... He's the best player in college football this year. And that's what the award should be. It shouldn't be a team award.
There is a 50/50 chance JMU gets to play in a bowl game
It's about 50 50. So they are ineligible to play in the postseason. However, if there are not enough bowl eligible teams in college football this season, then they will allow teams that are not eligible due to technicalities to play. Got it. So that's, that's a real thing.
The Gillette Stadium lighthouse is real as a symbol and a beacon of hope
Technically by definition, some would say that this lighthouse is not real. But there's some that would say that it is real... Just because PFT says this lighthouse isn't real, it doesn't mean you can't, it doesn't have to be real to you and as a region... Patriots fans, new Englanders, they'll recognize this lighthouse as a real thing, as a beacon of hope and as a symbol of our team.
Connor McDavid is a 'coach killer'
Is Connor McDavid a coach killer? Big Cat, 'cause this is coach number four I think for him... I'm gonna say that he's a coach killer. Just because it's fun and I have no idea if it's true or not, but it's always good to just slap that label on a really good player.
NFL fans should wear diapers during seven-hour football Sundays
I actually, I don't hate the idea. I all cards on the table. I have worn a diaper during a game before... I might start wearing diapers when we're watching NFL streams on Sunday. You got seven hours of football.
Zion Williamson is not an NBA superstar
Is Zion Williamson to be a superstar? No. No. I don't think he's played enough games to be a superstar. Superstars play. He was a college superstar. I absolutely agree with that.
