Villanova must make the tournament next year or Kyle Neptune is in trouble

It is time this upcoming year for Villanova to get back to the big dance floor or else... You can't go a decade of making the NCAA tournament and making runs... then miss it back to back seasons.

Neptune entered the 2024-25 season on the hot seat after two seasons of missing the NCAA tournament.

Michigan basketball will return to prominence quickly under Dusty May.

Recurring guest Dusty May is going from FAU to Ann Arbor... I think they're gonna be back quickly.

Dusty May's tenure has just begun; results in the Big Ten will determine if this is correct.

Someone will eventually get seriously injured during a court storming

It's dangerous, man. Yeah. and it is. It's dangerous now. And we've had significant injuries over the years... Something bad's gonna happen. And when it does, we're gonna have the audacity to be surprised at it.

While several minor injuries occurred (like Kyle Filipowski's sprain mentioned in the episode), a 'catastrophic' event hasn't yet ended the practice nationally.

Rick Pitino will get St. John's to a Final Four before he retires

Rick Pitino in the Final Four will happen at some point again before he calls it quits.

This is still pending as Pitino is still the coach at St. John's.

Gonzaga will eventually win a national title

Is Gonzaga ever going to win a national title? Yes. Yes. But soon? That's a different question... I think we're gonna win one.

Gonzaga has still not won a national title as of 2024.

Pardon My Take will do a show from the Maui Invitational within 5 years

I'm gonna proclaim it right now. Within the next 5 years. This podcast is doing the Maui tournament. Yeah, I'm, I'm in Hawaii for Thanksgiving. We'll get a big fucking pig with with pineapple.

As of late 2024, they haven't done a show from Maui yet, but the 5-year window (through 2027) is still open.

I would bet my life that Duke will not win a national championship in the next 10 years

If Duke wins one title in the next 10 years, you've got to kill yourself... I'll take that bet. I would take the under... I'll bet you our lives. You get 10 years because... John Scheyer, we don't know. He's not proven.

As of 2024, Duke has not won a national championship since the bet was made (2022).

Gonzaga is never going to win a national championship

Gonzaga is like, does I don't there'll be back. I'm sure they have great recruits and everything, but damn, that's a [loss]. That's never going to get to a final four [again].

Gonzaga has still not won a national championship since this take was made, though they have remained a top-tier program.

Gonzaga's window to win a title has officially closed until they move conferences

I'm officially announcing that until they move to a real conference, Gonzaga's window has officially closed.

Gonzaga has yet to win a title, and they eventually announced a move to the Pac-12 (starting 2026), suggesting they also felt a conference change was necessary.

John Scheyer will be successful because he knows how the Duke system operates

But I think he will, with the right boosters and connections and bag men, I think he will be very successful at Duke. So, and I think just having a guy who won a national title for Coach K be the guy who's now coaching, I think it's a fairly easy transition.

Scheyer has had success in the regular season and recruiting, though he has yet to reach a Final Four in his first two seasons.

Gonzaga will never win a National Title

So, all right, to put a bow on it, Gonzaga will never win a title. I mean, they didn't play against a single ranked team in the entire year of 2021... The WCC is a – it's Mickey Mouse. That's right. It is a Mickey Mouse league.

As of 2024, Gonzaga still has not won a National Championship.

If Gonzaga doesn't join the Pac-12 in five years, they are on a fraud countdown

I'm setting the law down right now. If Gonzaga does not go to the Pac-12, actually, within the next five years, they're on a fraud countdown. Anything longer than that, and you're doing it for your Mickey Mouse game?

Gonzaga is still in the WCC as of late 2024, though they have accepted an invitation to the Pac-12 starting in 2026.

Louisville has scored 69 points more than any other program in tournament history

Louisville has scored 69 points in NCAA tournament more than any other program in the country... I swear to God, that's a fact. And then it gets even better... the program that has won the most games in college basketball history that has never scored 69 in the tournament is BYU.

This is a very specific statistical anomaly Titus found; without historical box score access for every single game, it's difficult to verify, but Titus is known for these niche CBB stats.

John Calipari will stay at Kentucky until he retires, then go into broadcasting or politics

I actually think he'll retire here and then he'll go into broadcasting. Or he talks about privately running for Senate. And I know that seems crazy, but I could totally see him in four years running against Mitch McConnell.

As of early 2024, Calipari is still coaching at Kentucky (and later Arkansas) and hasn't entered politics or broadcasting permanently.
