The rumored Conor McGregor vs. Logan Paul boxing match will be a 'shitty money grab' that sucks

Conor McGregor tweeted that the rumors of about with Rio are false. I'm in preliminary agreements... to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India... It's probably gonna suck. I'm sick of it. This might be, so they fight someone who's actually like at the top of their game.

The quality of the fight is subjective, though the prediction it will be perceived as a 'money grab' is highly likely.

Jake Paul took mercy on Mike Tyson in their boxing match

I guess credit to Jake Paul for not knocking out Mike Tyson. ... He had no chance of winning that. And Jake Paul took mercy on his soul, which should never happen in a boxing match. ... That third round was elder abuse. That was the round where Jake Paul was like, I'm gonna start unloading. And Mike Tyson couldn't move.

While subjective, most boxing analysts and viewers agreed that Jake Paul appeared to stop pursuing a knockout after the mid-rounds.

Determination and hard work make a champion, not just talent

I don't think I'm the most talented guy. In fact, I think talent is very important, but I think talent doesn't make you a champion. Talent doesn't put you in the top of the game. Like, there's only one thing: is your dedication, your determination, and your hard work. Because the most talented people, for some reason, they are not always in top of the game.

Subjective philosophy on success.

Oleksandr Usyk was the deserved winner over Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury lost, Usyk beat him in 12 rounds. It was an awesome fight... the right fighter won... Tyson Fury's in Deep Water because I knew he's the type of guy that if you're like Tyson Fury's done. Yeah. He'll come back and he'll just knock someone else out.

Usyk won via split decision to become undisputed champion.

Anthony Joshua knocking out Francis Ngannou was great for boxing

Anthony Joshua knocked the fuck out of Francis Ngannou and that feels good for boxing... I am a boxing purist in the fact that I want boxers to always beat people who show up... anyone who shows up into a boxing ring with no boxing training, I want them to lose every time.

This is an opinion on the health and credibility of the sport of boxing.

Tyson Fury was embarrassingly out of shape for the Ngannou fight

Tyson Fury always looks a little bit outta shape, but he looked so outta shape next to Ngannou. Just like they look like different species... he was the heaviest he's ever been was he? That's what they said. Which bullshit for the announcers to say that.

Fury weighed in at 277 lbs, which was actually a few pounds lighter than his previous fight against Derek Chisora (268 lbs), though he did appear less toned than usual.

Jon Jones is the best UFC fighter of all time

I think John Jones is the best UFC fighter of all time, I think at this point. It's hard to say otherwise cuz he has that one loss on his record. But that was just for illegal elbows, right, when he is beating the fuck out of a guy.

This is a widely held but debated opinion in MMA circles, primarily due to drug testing issues.

Canelo Alvarez is the pound-for-pound greatest boxer in the world

You have the current GOAT, which is Canelo Alvarez pound for pound, number one, the biggest star in the sport... he just fluctuates up weight classes and just basically wants to fight all champions.

Canelo would lose his very next fight against Dmitry Bivol immediately following this interview.

Women's boxing is on the up and up following the electric Taylor vs. Serrano fight

Women's boxing is on the up and up. ... What we saw in the last Jake Paul card with Amanda Serrano on it is that those fights are extremely electric. ... It was the first headline by women fighters at Madison Square Garden itself in its 140 year history.

The event was a massive critical and commercial success, and women's boxing has continued to see growth in visibility.

Patty the Batty is going to be a massive star

Our colleague, Patty the Batty put on an electric show... Patty the Batty's going to be a star. I'm so excited. He choked out the guy in what, like three minutes... I just love Patty too because his haircut and just how he looks. And then he kicks your ass.

Pimblett became one of the most popular and recognizable names in the UFC shortly after.

Francis Ngannou's life story deserves a 30 for 30

We do need a 30 for 30 on Francis Ngannou's life. It's crazy. He worked in a sand mine when he was 10 years old in Cameroon... traveled to Europe, took 14 months, failed a bunch of times, had to go to prison because he illegally crossed the border... and now he's a world champ.

This is subjective, but Ngannou's story is widely regarded as one of the most remarkable in sports history.

Boxing at the professional level is the most difficult sport in terms of coordination and stamina

Boxing on top. Yeah. Agreed. Because you could suck at all these sports pretty easily true. But some sports are more difficult to suck at... Boxing at the highest level, I think is the hardest difficulty in terms of everything that's involved: hand-eye coordination, fast-twitch muscles, stamina.

The difficulty of a sport is inherently subjective, though boxing consistently ranks high in sports science studies.

I would support but not encourage my daughter if she wanted to box

I would not like my daughter to fight. ... I know I will never tell my kids not to. I am not encouraging them to, but at the same time, I will support them whatever they want to do, you know, in life, because you have to.

It is harder to stay champion than to become champion

It's hard to be champion, but it's much harder to stay champion. Because when you're a champion, you're up there. Everybody's been studying your game for a long, long time. You only see that guy, you study that guy for maybe a few months. But him, he's been watching you for many years. So he had a lot more time to download your data than you did.

This is a philosophical observation from one of the greatest champions in history.

Ronda Rousey is underrated for what she built in women's MMA

Underrated. Look at what she did. Look at what she built. She started it all... That whole combination of what she was is what built the women's mixed martial arts world. It's like a chicken and the egg phenomenon.

Rousey's role as a pioneer is undisputed, even if her late-career performance was criticized.

Floyd Mayweather will beat Conor McGregor by decision

I see some betting value on Floyd Mayweather at plus 230 by decision ... I feel pretty convicted that Floyd's not going to knock Conor McGregor out.

Mayweather won by TKO in the 10th round, so he did knock (or stop) him out, making Anik's decision prediction incorrect.

Donald Cerrone is a strong betting value against Kelvin Gastelum

I got to say I see value on the Cerrone side. He's been unstoppable as a welterweight... To me, a guy like Donald Cerrone, who you know brings it the way he does in that minus 155 range... would be appetizing to some betters.

This fight was actually pulled from UFC 205 because Gastelum failed to make weight and didn't even attempt to step on the scale.

Conor McGregor's retirement tweet was a brilliant marketing move to generate buzz

Excellent marketing move on his part... we were all talking about MMA, like in the offseason of MMA, pretty much. So, yeah. Excellent marketing move on his part.

McGregor did return and continued fighting, confirming the 'retirement' was a negotiation or PR tactic.
