Takes
The 2020 NFL season is definitely happening
All indications point that there is definitely going to be an NFL season, and we are preparing for that as the NFL... Everything that I'm told is that we are definitely having an NFL season.
Cam Newton will prove he's still an MVP with the Patriots
Cam now has a huge chip on his shoulder and he's in a position to go to a great organization and prove that he still can be Cam Newton, the MVP that we saw a couple of years ago... If he buys into [the Patriot Way], he can be a part of something really good.
The NFL banning jersey swaps is pure PR and makes no sense
I also love the NFL being like 'we're not going to do jersey swaps.' Mmm. Thank you. You know, you're hitting each other for three hours, standing next to each other, getting in a pile. But if you try to fucking jersey swap... that was PR 101, that was a fake-ass move by them.
I could complete a pass in the NFL if given four downs
I think I could complete a pass if it was maybe to Edelman and he takes two steps. It's a wide receiver screen... I'm talking about like a Jet Sweep type thing where the it's just about the timing and you get the ball and you just pop it in front of you.
I am not an NFL caliber kicker unless I make a team
I'm definitely not an NFL caliber guy. I know that... I am not an NFL caliber kicker unless I make an NFL team, at which point I am an NFL caliber kicker. There is zero part of my brain that thinks that I'm a professional caliber kicker... half a percent.
Paying Patrick Mahomes this much money will inevitably hurt the Chiefs' roster depth
The ultimate question now is will paying Patrick Mahomes this much hurt the team? And of course it will because he's going to be paid a lot of money. And is it going to be worth it in the long run when you have to figure out a way to Cobble together a team by paying Patrick Mahomes as well.
Patrick Mahomes is already a Hall of Famer
There are 13 guys who have won Super Bowl MVP and League MVP... nine of them are in the Hall of Fame. The other three are Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady. Then the 13th is Patrick Mahomes. So essentially you're saying he's already a Hall of Famer. Yes. He is already in the upper echelon of NFL players.
I would hammer the under on Patrick Mahomes winning 3.5 more Super Bowls
If you though said over under Super Bowls for Patrick Mahomes, and you said it at let's say three and a half, I would hammer the under and that's nothing against Patrick Mahomes. That's just the NFL.
I would give up my left leg from the knee down to have Patrick Mahomes on the Bears
I think I'd give up a leg to have Patrick Mahomes on the Bears. A full leg, knee down... left leg. You don't need your legs in your 40s. I just couldn't imagine having [him]. Everyone would assume you were a veteran.
There is a 5% chance the Giants or Jets sign me as an emergency kicker if their kicker tests positive for COVID
If the Jets or the Giants lose a kicker the night before a home game and they have to put him in quarantine and I'm available... I'll drive to MetLife Stadium every Sunday morning... it's a 5% chance that it actually happens.
I am better at kicking field goals than 50% of the players on the New York Red Bulls
I think I am better than 50% of New York Red Bulls soccer players at kicking field goals in football. From 35 yards, yes. Then 50% of MLS, yes.
The Washington Generals have a better winning culture than the Redskins have had for the last 30 years
If you are a Redskins fan most people that I know are totally on board with the name change just because it's a new fucking page. It's turning the page. They've been so bad that the name Washington Generals is more aligned with a winning culture than the Washington Redskins has been for the last 30 years.
Tom Brady's move to Tampa Bay is the only reason Rob Gronkowski returned from retirement
I think that the workload the Patriots wanted [Gronk] to do was higher than something at Tampa is going to have him do... if Tom Brady had stuck around in New England Rob Gronkowski probably still be retired.
Tom Brady would never admit to having coronavirus because he drinks so much water it wouldn't affect him.
I'm putting all my money on Tom Brady because even if he gets it, he's not going to admit that he has it. And if he gets it, he's going to just—he drinks so much water that it's just not going to affect him. He wouldn't admit that he had it... and he'd be like, 'I'm fine, I'm totally fine... I drank six gallons of water today... there's no chance I have it.'
Retired sports legends should never take GM or front office jobs because they risk ruining their legacy.
If the Broncos are never good again under his [Elway's] watch, does he lose—that's why he never should take that type of job. I know he won one in the front office, but you could basically ruin it. You got to just kind of ride off into the sunset and be the legend and never take any risks with the organization again.
The Bears were right to sign Nick Foles because there were no other good quarterbacks available
Looks like the Bears were really right to sign Nick Foles because there's no other good quarterbacks out there. Yeah.
The Patriots are going to make the Super Bowl with Cam Newton
Cam Newton is going to be the starter. It's going to be electric. The Patriots are going to make the Super Bowl. It's going to be the Patriots and the Bucs and I'm going to be so excited.
Bill Belichick has always wanted a mobile quarterback to experiment with new offensive schemes
Belichick's always talking about how he wants a mobile quarterback... belch I was like, I want to get rid of you [Brady] and get a cool new toy that can run around. So like the football like porn that's going to come out of this like the X's and O's and blocking schemes... Bellatrix brain with like a mobile quarterback.
If the Browns win the Super Bowl with no fans, it has an asterisk
If there's no fans in the stadium for the entire NFL season and the Browns win the Super bowl, of course as a Browns fan you're going to take it no matter what but still, you know, people will be like well, then let's play in front of any road games.
An NFL season without fans heavily favors the Chargers
any favorite favor of the Chargers big time because all their home games will be less of road games than they were before.
Ted Ginn drops open passes because he is too fast for his own good
Ted Ginn actually is a victim of his own success like the reason why he drops open passes. He's so fast. He gets open true and begin a little slower dude, because he's just been around for forever.
Tom Brady is on the hot seat for leading workouts during the COVID-19 spike
Tom Brady is on the hot seat... despite the NFLPA advising that players should not work out together, Tom Brady led another Bucks workout this morning. Wow, in a state where coronavirus cases are spiking. He had nine players working out together.
Ben Roethlisberger's porn addiction admission is a genius move to distract from his real past
This was genius by him. Of course everything that he does is genius, right? Be like, I'm not talking about my real past. I'm talking about my porn. And yes, this is the androstenedione in the locker for Mark McGwire that Roethlisberger's bringing.
I currently consider myself the best quarterback in the NFC South
I think currently I'll go with myself [as the best quarterback in the NFC South].
Jamal Adams is the new Antonio Brown of contract disputes
Dak Prescott and Jamal Adams to figure out whose contract is going to be... we talk a little bit about Jamal on Friday show he is the new Antonio Brown. We all just think that Jamal Adams is now... he has us all convinced that he's a free agent, right? He's still got two years that they can control his contract.
Tom Brady in a Buccaneers jersey makes him look like a Sith Lord villain
Me personally I think that him in the Buccaneers Jersey makes him look like a total villain because it's just the color schemes like big like Sith Lord Vibes... he went from blue and red which is like you know like I feel like Synergy good Jedi and then it's like Sith Lord but that's just me.
Jameis Winston will be a Hall of Fame quarterback
Jameis Winston has told himself that he is one of the best quarterbacks... 'I know what I'm worth and I know day in and day out without publicly coming in and saying it that historically I'm one of the best quarterbacks to play the game.' ... Janice Winston has told himself that he is one of the best quarterbacks. According to history, Jamis is a hall-of-fame quarterback... Jameis Winston is going to be a Hall of Famer.
I am going to win the National Championship with Tennessee
I am so scared, so, so scared, but I also feel confident that I'm going to win. I'm going to win. I'm going to win this game. Right in blood.
September 20, 2020 will be the perfect sports day
September 20th is going to be a hell of a day in sports. Yeah, it's going to be the day when all the sports line. We're going to have NBA playoffs. We're going to have hockey playoffs. You've got also golf the US Open that's the final round of that on that day.
The Buccaneers at number five is fine because they already had a decent core and a good defense
I'm actually okay with the Bucs being five because the Bucs... they had the core of a decent team last year. They just had a quarterback that threw 30 interceptions... And they had a pretty good defense, too.
The Buccaneers' rushing attack is underrated
I also think that the running game in Tampa is underrated... so many people are talking about Tom Brady and Gronk and Mike Evans that no one's talking about Barber and the rushing attack that they had, which was pretty effective.
The Cardinals will be everyone's dark horse team this summer
Cardinals, right now, I'm just calling it, they are going to be everyone's dark horse team. Yeah, because it's going to be like they can't be as bad as they were last year, plus year two with a new coach.
The Browns will be the 13th best team in the NFL and will make the playoffs
I'm actually going to put the Browns at 13. I'm a Browns believer. They're going back to the fullback game this year.
The Giants are the most likely team of the bottom five to make the playoffs
I actually think the Giants could, of those five bottom teams, if I had to pick one of those five bottom teams to make the playoffs, I would throw in the Giants. Just because the NFC never makes sense. Daniel Jones, maybe he stops fumbling all the time.
Saying the word 'fuck' improves pain tolerance, so Philip Rivers should start cursing to win a Super Bowl
researchers found that saying the word fuck can improve your threshold for pain... when you say fudge or dang it or gosh darn it, it's worse... could you imagine what he would be like as a quarterback if he actually said fuck? ... Do you think if Phil Rivers starts cussing, then he wins a Super Bowl? Probably.
The NFL will move full steam ahead with the season regardless of protocols
Al Michaels felt pretty serious if football is going to happen, what you like it or not... They're just going full steam ahead. That's what I wondered. Don't they have any protocols? No. What virus? ... Rub some dirt on it. That's their protocol.
The Green Bay Packers are the Yankees/Celtics of the NFL, not the Patriots or Steelers
I just think it's fascinating as a Patriots fan that we've won six titles in the hundred years of the league... But then the Green Bay Packers won like nine or 11 NFL titles and then won another four Super Bowls. So they're the Celtics, Lakers, whatever you want to say, Yankees, Canadians of the NFL. But for some reason, the Steelers and the Patriots are holding that crown.
I want Tom Brady to play the Chiefs in the Super Bowl and win his seventh ring
I want to see Tom Brady take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Super Bowl and play Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. And then he wins seven. He's got one more than Jordan. I think that would be unbelievable.
The NFL's statement on George Floyd is only being made because it's now 'safe'
The NFL has a track record of being reactionary rather than proactive. And this is exactly what they're doing right now... They're saying it because it's safe to do so now... If you're really with it, then condemn the ownership that has blackball cap, condemn the ownership that has funded and backed publicly a man that is calling the same protesters thugs.
The NFL should call their new officiating system 'Sky Judge 10,000' to prevent anyone from disagreeing with it
The thing with the Sky Judge is that all they have to do is officially call it Sky Judge or even Sky Judge 10,000, and no one will ever disagree with it. It doesn't even have to be anything new. It could be the exact same system and just say there's a Sky Judge. SJ10K.
Jameis Winston's unorthodox off-season training (baseball, boxing) will work because playing actual football is what's bad for him
Jameis Winston. He is practicing football by practicing baseball. And I feel like that's going to work. He's just in that phase of his career where he's going to just do everything that's not football to get better at football because playing football is bad for him. I think this is going to work for him.
Almost any outdoor sport will be able to return to play by September 2020
I pretty guarantee almost any outdoor sport is probably going to be able to be played, I bet. Yes. And by September, if there should be more uniform and easier ways to test quickly, they can test all those players before they go in.
The Cowboys don't view Dak Prescott as a top-tier franchise quarterback
The fact that it's taken this long speaks to exactly how the Cowboys feel about Dak Prescott. They like him. They want him. But he's not [Mahomes]. He's not Russell Wilson.
Andy Dalton is 80% of Dak Prescott
Is Andy Dalton 80% of Dak Prescott? ... Andy Dalton is the type of guy that with talent around him in the right situation which the cowboys have a ton of offensive talent... Why not? They'd have a good running game. You have CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. Andy Dalton is a fine player for that situation.
Lamar Jackson is better at playing Taysom Hill's positions than Taysom Hill
I would go out on a limb and say that I think Lamar Jackson might be better at playing most of the same positions that Taysom Hill plays.
Tom Brady makes centers shove a towel down their pants to stop sweat
Literally the first conversation I ever had with Tom Brady after he signed with the Bucs was... straight to, hey, I need you to shove a towel down your ass so you don't get my hands sweaty. ... how much baby powder to put down my crack. ... hamburger style first and then, hot dog style and then, shove it down there.
Joe Flacco has a gentle hand placement compared to Ryan Fitzpatrick
Joe [Flacco] probably because he never actually really got really that far in there. He was almost like a low backhand placement. So I'd say he's probably the most gentle. ... every time [Fitzpatrick] would get under center, he'd give a little bit harder of a tap.
