The first two weeks of bowl season are usually when I make my money in gambling

This is usually the time of year that I do really well in gambling, actually. First two weeks of bowl season. That's when you make your money.

The outcome of PFT's personal gambling record for that specific year is unknown, making this inherently subjective/verifiable only by him.

An undefeated Group of Five team deserves a shot in the College Football Playoff

Now, if you go 13-0 and 13-0, I think you deserve a shot in the Final Four. I really do. Same thing with a Boise State or a Houston or a Group of Five team that does that.

This remained a major debate for years until Cincinnati (a Group of Five team) was selected for the Playoff in 2021.

Tom Flacco has a bright future and will eventually become an elite quarterback

Joe is big, pocket passer. Tom [Flacco] is a little bit smaller, incredibly competitive, and more of a runner. But he's got an incredible arm. He's become very accurate. And the future is bright with Tom Flacco.

Tom Flacco was a very successful college QB at Towson (finalist for the Walter Payton Award) but did not become an elite professional quarterback, only briefly appearing on NFL practice squads/rosters.

Neither Penn State nor Wisconsin will make the College Football Playoff

No, neither team is going to get in [to the Final Four]. And the committee, let me tell you how this works... they wouldn't have put Michigan at number five if they really were anticipating putting the winner of this game in.

Correct. Penn State won the Big Ten but was ranked #5, missing the playoff. Wisconsin also missed.

Penn State will win the Big Ten Championship game

Ohio State and Clemson are the only teams with the speed to match up with Alabama

Athletically they [Ohio State] had the players to match up with Alabama. And I think right now that Clemson fits in that same mold... Ohio State could [match up], and I think Clemson could also.

Clemson defeated Alabama in the 2017 National Championship, proving they had the speed and talent to match up.

Oregon and Texas should have kept Mark Helfrich and Charlie Strong

I would have kept them both [Mark Helfrich and Charlie Strong], by the way. Absolutely. I really think you've got to give a guy four years.

Both schools moved on to newer coaches (Willie Taggart and Tom Herman) with mixed results, but this is fundamentally an opinion on coaching tenure.

You have to give a college coach four years to build a program

I really think you've got to give a guy four years. Because when you go into a job... there's commitments. And so you honor those kids. And they may not fit in offense, defense, scheme-wise to what you're going to do.

This is a subjective philosophy on athletic department management.

Every team that has ever made the College Football Playoff has been a Nike school

Every team that's made the college football playoffs is a Nike school. A little bit of a conspiracy. Turns out every school is a Nike school pretty much.

Wilton Speight choked against Ohio State and is more to blame for the loss than the officiating.

Speight kind of blew it... He was choking about every series. He's tripping on his own feet, he's fumbling, he's throwing picks... I'm not on board with the whole officiating thing. I think that's ridiculous.

Speight had three turnovers in the game; the assessment is subjective but supported by statistics.

Ohio State is not a lock for the College Football Playoff if Penn State wins the Big Ten

If Penn State beats Wisconsin... I think you're looking at either two Big Ten teams in or you're looking at Penn State in and Ohio State out. Now, that's very, like, no one agrees with me on this... Kirk Herbstreit, those guys are saying, no, they're saying, you know, Ohio State's a lock... And I don't know how they can comfortably say that.

A quick fix for the NCAA for me to make things fairer for the players is to let them transfer if their coach goes they should be able to go too let them go i agree with that

Tennessee has been the Les Miles team this year. Les was good for a really long time, but then he would have four or five games that he had no business winning, that he would luck into.
