The WNBA/NBA pay gap argument actually proves that NBA players are currently underpaid based on their revenue generation

NBA players obviously make way more money than WNBA players, but the league revenue is much higher. So at the same time, [people] are making the argument that NBA players should actually be paid more for what they're bringing. But their salaries are artificially deflated by the collective bargaining agreement that they have.

The math on revenue sharing percentages in the NBA compared to total revenue generation is a well-documented economic debate in sports labor.

The WNBA draft, the all the rookie wages getting tweeted out and everyone's like, what the fuck? It's like, well, this is what Caitlin Clark might be able to fix. She might be able to improve things a little bit.

The WNBA's new CBA proposal (March 2026) dramatically increases rookie salaries from ~$76K to much higher figures, with the salary cap jumping from $1.5M to $5.75M and average salaries rising from $120K to $540K.
