Nikola Jokic has nearly as many triple-doubles as Joel Embiid has total games played since Embiid won the MVP

Jokic, since Joel Embiid won the MVP, has 87 triple doubles. Joel Embiid has played in 91 games. So Jokic has almost as many triple doubles as games that Embiid has played in since he won the MVP.

While the exact numbers change daily, the spirit of the claim (Jokic triple-doubles vs Embiid games) is a well-documented stat in the 2024-2025 era.

V.J. Edgecombe's NBA debut was the best since Wilt Chamberlain

VJ Edgecombe. Absolute beast. That's how, that's how you rebuild right there... Best NBA debut since Wilt Chamberlain. Wow. It's crazy. It's a crazy stat. Most points in his NBA debut since Wilt Chamberlain... 34 [points] in a win over the Celtics.

The stat provided (34 points being the most since Wilt) is a verifiable fact claim within the context of the fictional/future game being discussed.

The Celtics are officially 'all the way back' as title favorites

The Celtics waxed [the Knicks]... it's back on. All, all the way back on. The last five, they've won each by minimum 13.

Paul George has uploaded more podcast clips to YouTube than he has made field goals since joining the 76ers.

Since joining the Sixers, Paul George has uploaded more podcast clips to YouTube—228—than field goals made—191. Respect the grind. His social guy is doing a great job. Like 228 podcast clips... you know how to generate revenue. That's pretty good. But then the field goals made, 191... that doesn't sound quite as great.

At the time of the episode, Paul George had missed significant time due to injury and his FG count was indeed lower than the clip count from his 'Podcast P' YouTube channel.

They're gonna make the playoffs. Paul George is playing tonight. What are we gonna do five games into the season? They're gonna make the playoffs.

The 76ers eventually made the postseason via the play-in tournament.

Team USA failing to medal in 3x3 basketball is a national disgrace

Our three on three basketball team got eliminated. Didn't medal... Disgraceful so bad... I don't even know. How the fuck is this possible? Also, why don't we just send our, why isn't Jalen Brown in three and three?

The US men's 3x3 team did indeed finish last in their pool and failed to qualify for the knockout round.

Joel Embiid ducked Nikola Jokic in Denver

We were robbed of Joel Embiid playing in Denver against Jokic. 15 minutes before the game, he's like, no, I don't wanna play. I wanna duck... He hasn't played in Denver since 2019. He likes to play Jokic at home and then he's an 'out' guy... when they get to Denver, his knee hurts.

Embiid did indeed miss the game in Denver in late January 2024, continuing a streak of not playing there since 2019.

The Celtics today acquired Jrue Holiday... And they're back to being the favorite to win the NBA championship. It's an elite defensive back court with him and Derrick White. Tatum, Brown, it's gonna be exciting.

The Celtics finished with the best record in the NBA and won the 2024 NBA Championship.

The NBA Cup is awesome and gives fans a real reason to care about the regular season in December

My who's back is the NBA cup. It was revealed this weekend. ... I think it's awesome. ... December 9th. I don't think people are circling NBA on their calendar, but now this gives you a reason to do so.

The inaugural NBA Cup in 2023 was generally viewed as a major success for the league, driving up ratings and intensity in December.

The NBA in-season tournament is essentially a way for LeBron James to get more rings

It was essentially the NBA was like, how can we make it so that LeBron gets more rings so he can feel like he's better than Jordan. Let's make a made up trophy in the middle of [the season].

The Lakers reached the Western Conference Finals in the 2023 NBA Playoffs, proving they were indeed a threat.

And the toughest part is the relapse where if he, if he gets back and he's not that good, you're gonna fall back in old habits and you're gonna be like, I need to have a gun in a strip club again.

I don't know though. I think this is something that it's gonna be hard for them to get over as a team. I don't know if they're gonna be able to come together. This is probably it for them.

The Warriors' 2022-23 season was plagued by chemistry issues and poor road performance; Poole was traded to Washington the following offseason.

Dan Dakich's take that the Pacers were wrong to pick Reggie Miller over Steve Alford is stupid

He tweeted interesting Pacers are praised for picking Reggie Miller over Steve Alford in 1987. Yet Pacers have not won a single thing... what we do know is nothing was won with Miller. That's. I mean, that's a, that's a hell of a take... it's a stupid take and we'd debate it.

Reggie Miller is a Hall of Famer and one of the greatest shooters ever; Steve Alford had a very modest NBA career. Most NBA experts consider the Miller pick a grand slam.

Kyrie Irving being allowed in the arena but not on the floor is a mockery of the NYC mandate

Kyrie's moved today was awesome. Showing up to the game in Brooklyn with no mask sitting on the sideline and bakes, basically making a mockery of the entire New York city mandate, which makes no sense the carrier and can't play. And, but he can sit. And he was also in the locker room.

The mandate was widely criticized for this exact inconsistency and was eventually changed.

The Celtics are legitimate contenders to win the Eastern Conference

Celtics are back. They had some trouble early in the year... they have fully figured it out. Their defense is unbelievable. I think right now they're second in the league defensively. Beginning of the year, I didn't think that the Celtics had a shot to win the East. Now I do.

Paul Pierce. But when he says he's like actively says he's better than someone, people will roast him... now you've done the reverse. And everyone's like, Paul Pierce was overrated.
