The NFC is wide open for the next few years

Tom Brady just retired. Aaron Rodgers may go to the AFC who the fuck knows where he's going to end up. Like the NFC is going to be wide open for a little bit.

Brady eventually unretired, but the NFC power dynamic did shift as several Hall of Fame QBs left the conference or retired shortly after.

The Washington Commanders name won't matter once the season starts

The team name, I think I said it on Wednesday's show, but, like, people get mad about it for 24 hours. No one, like, will remember it, care. Then football will be back, and we'll be like, who cares? It's not going to be – I don't think it makes or breaks anything.

The name remains controversial and unpopular with the fan base years later, and there are ongoing discussions about changing it again under new ownership.

Tom Brady's retirement is a '3D chess' move to eventually return to the Patriots

Tom Brady unretires, comes back, plays for the Patriots, and that's why he's not thanking the Patriots yet... This is 3D chess. He's using this to go back to the Patriots because the Buccaneers, he doesn't think, can take him to another Super Bowl. But the Patriots could.

Brady did un-retire, but he returned to the Buccaneers, not the Patriots.

Tom Brady... has just as many NFC playoff wins [as Aaron Rodgers].

At the time, Brady had 4 NFC playoff wins (all from the 2020 Super Bowl run). Rodgers had 11 career playoff wins, but only 5 of those were NFC Championship/Division/Wild Card wins since Brady joined the NFC. Hank is technically referring to NFC Championship wins/success, where they were tied at 1 ring each.

The Steelers aren't in a bad position as a franchise despite Big Ben's retirement

If you look at the entire NFL, the Steelers are not in a bad, like, no, it wasn't Big Ben with it. His last ride was with all his guys... they have pieces on offense. They just need a quarterback and an offensive line.

Since Big Ben retired, the Steelers have remained competitive but have struggled significantly at the quarterback position (Pickett, Trubisky), largely proving the 'just need a QB' part right but also highlighting how hard that is to find.

Getting a quarterback as good as Russell Wilson is very tough to do in this league. I would say it's very tough. Getting a coach like Pete Carroll is tough to do in this league.
