The USMNT's Copa America match against Uruguay will be their first real test

Uruguay is gonna be a good game. They're very good. We beat the dastardly Bolivians... Panama, they stink. And then Uruguay, they're always good in these tournaments.

The US lost to Uruguay 1-0 and was eliminated in the group stage, confirming Uruguay was indeed a tough opponent.

You do not want to mess with the United States Women's National Soccer Team

You do not want to fuck with the United States Women's National Soccer team. They're going for three straight women's world cups right now. And you don't wanna screw with them. They're dominant.

The USWNT were eliminated in the Round of 16 in the 2023 World Cup, their earliest exit ever, shortly after this episode aired.

Brazil is the favorite to win the World Cup

This is Brazil's World Cup to lose boys. Yeah, it's Brazil's to lose. Yep... I just think they're more balanced than they ever have... they have more talent than anyone. There's more professional players in the world than from Brazil. They, they, they just manufacture players. It's their pastime.

Brazil lost in the Quarterfinals to Croatia on penalties.

The hardest part of being a professional goalkeeper is the mental strength required to not dwell on mistakes.

As goalkeepers, if you make one mistake, it's usually going to end up as a goal... the hardest part is just like be mentally strong and not being, not thinking about making mistake or being negative because when that happens, you bounce back and mistakes [happen].

Subjective insight into the psychological demands of professional sports.

The USMNT will get out of the group stage in the 2022 World Cup

When we make the World Cup, we always get out of pool play.

The USMNT did advance from Group B (finishing 2nd) to the Round of 16 in the 2022 World Cup.

It would be a shame if the US soccer team misses the World Cup again

I just wanted to say it's a shame. Just so that I'm on the record. I feel like some people think I'm trolling. I'm saying it's a shame if we don't make the World Cup again.

The USMNT did eventually qualify for the 2022 World Cup, so the 'shame' was avoided.

US Soccer will make the World Cup this year

I'm not down with the negativity from Big Cat. I'm not negative. Wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa. When was I negative? I said it would be a shame if we didn't make the World Cup. I think that this is the year. This is a year for US Soccer to... make the World Cup.

The USMNT successfully qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Calling off the Denmark vs. Finland match after Christian Eriksen's collapse was the right move.

They called the game off, which was probably the right thing to do... then Christian Eriksen gets on a zoom call... tells them, I want you guys to play the game. Then they went out there and played.

This is a moral and procedural opinion on sports management during a crisis.

Football is 'coming home' for England in the Euros

All I'm saying about the Euros, it's coming home. Yeah, it's coming home. Something just very special about pasty white English fans ripping off their shirts... Football's coming home. And then they're going to lose in tragic fashion.

England reached the final but lost to Italy on penalties—exactly the 'tragic fashion' PFT noted.

The US Men's National Team will qualify for a World Cup within the next 10 years

I have a feeling that all these building blocks that we've got in place, at some point in the next 10 years, the U.S. men's national team is going to qualify for World Cup.

The US qualified for the 2022 World Cup and is an automatic qualifier as a host for 2026.

Stadiums built for the World Cup in Brazil and China are starting to fall apart and it's awesome to look at

If anyone out there is like me who loves to look at empty stadium porn, we are in the perfect spot for all the stadiums in Brazil to the World Cup was played in they're starting to fall apart and it's fucking sick to look at. In China right now... it's getting good again. Overgrown with vines. They look like the Astrodome.

The 'abandoned stadiums' aesthetic is a subjective preference, but the fact that these stadiums are falling into disrepair is well-documented.

Freddy Adu was going to save American soccer

I'm going to have to go with the goat Freddy Adu and we still don't know. He still could be great true... he was the first one I went to his very first game. DC United. I was there he got in after like I don't know 70 minutes. I was like if he's really good. He's probably be starting. That was my first clue. Yeah, but maybe he wouldn't be great.

Adu failed to live up to the 'next Pele' hype and his career fizzled out.

The Premier League is the most appeasing thing to watch in the morning because the green pitch lulls you like the Masters

The Premier League, part of the reason why people like watching it... it's very appeasing in the morning on a Saturday or Sunday. The pitch is so green, and it just kind of lulls you. It's like almost watching the Masters. It is a very nice, easy way to start the day.

Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus is a good fit because Serie A is all about defense

I think it's a good fit. You don't score goals in Serie A... In Italy, it's just all about defense. So if he gets his one free kick a game, then his team's probably going pretty good.

Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 134 appearances for Juventus, proving he could still score at a high rate in Italy.

Leicester City winning the Premier League was crazier than the Cubs or Cavs championships

[Leicester winning] was by far of those four. That's like kind of what we want people to compare... Leicester City, that was freaking weird, especially given how they're not very good this year either.
