The Green Bay vs. Atlanta NFC Championship will be 'Mickey Mouse football' with no tackling

Green Bay against Atlanta is going to basically just be first one to 50. The Big 12 is going to be playing the NFC Championship game. I could not be more excited. It's Mickey Mouse football. Yeah, no tackling. It's flag football.

The Falcons won 44-21. While high scoring for Atlanta, it wasn't the 50-point shootout Big Cat suggested, and Green Bay failed to keep pace.

The Bears will try to trade Jay Cutler this offseason

He's got a very tradable contract, $12.5 million. I think the Bears will try to trade him. Depends on how this coaching deal shakes out. If Kyle Shanahan ends up the head coach somewhere, I could see him being potentially interested in Cutler.

The Bears were unable to trade Cutler and ultimately released him in March 2017. He briefly retired before joining the Dolphins.

The Green Bay Packers are not built for cold weather at Lambeau Field

You know what my favorite take is? The Packers aren't built for Lambeau. They're playing in the wrong stadium. This is a new look. Yeah, they almost wish they were somewhere else. They wish they didn't have a home game.

Hot TakeFootballHotSarcastic
The Packers lost at home in the cold several times during this era (e.g., to the 49ers in 2013), but generally remain strong at Lambeau. In 2016, they actually beat the Giants in the Wild Card round at home.

He's got another 10 years in this league as a backup. ... You get your name out there as a starter for four games. Little film. All of a sudden... You're one of the premier backups in the league.

Fitzpatrick played 6 more seasons until 2021, retiring in early 2022. He didn't reach 10 years, but he maintained the backup/bridge role for most of that time.

The average lifespan of an NFL player is longer than an average American. No, even an average American. Like, it's longer. They live longer, healthier lives than an average American. CTE or not.

While some studies (like NIOSH 2012) showed NFL players had lower overall mortality rates than the general population due to higher fitness and socioeconomic status, the claim is highly debated regarding quality of life and brain health specifically.

Jeff Fisher will start Jared Goff in the next three to four weeks to avoid being fired

I'm going to call my shot. Within, I'm going to say, three or four weeks, depending on the record, I think Jeff Fisher is going to make the call. He's going to move Jared Goff up. And at that point, you can't fire a coach when he's developing a quarterback. So that's going to buy him two more years.

Goff made his first start exactly three weeks later (Nov 20). However, it did not buy Fisher two years; he was fired in December 2016.

The Eagles deserve a C+ for their 2016 draft because they didn't move up for a wide receiver

If I had to give the Eagles a draft grade, I would give them a solid C+. Why? Because I strongly feel like even though they traded their picks up and they drafted Carson Wentz, who I think's a fucking G, I feel like they could have made a move and traded up to get into the second round and get a wide receiver.

Wentz had a strong start but the lack of weapons eventually became a major issue in Philly. However, they won a Super Bowl shortly after, making a 'C+' grade look low in hindsight.

The Cleveland Browns are smarter to do nothing in free agency than to fail spectacularly again

I think the Browns are just playing the game where they fucked up so bad in the past and everything that they've done that not doing anything is actually a smarter move than trying to do something and failing because you can't stay still. You're going to piss off your fans for about six months if you don't do anything in free agency. But a fan's not going to remember that like a year from now.

The Browns went 1-15 in 2016, so doing nothing did not lead to success, though it fits the narrative of their 'Moneyball' era strategy at the time.
