I clearly beat Canelo Alvarez in our first fight

You know, I was doing my job, I hit him more, and the computer showed that, and the judges showed that, so that's all I have to say.

The first fight was officially a split draw, though most observers agreed with Golovkin.

Ronda Rousey is underrated for what she built in women's MMA

Underrated. Look at what she did. Look at what she built. She started it all... That whole combination of what she was is what built the women's mixed martial arts world. It's like a chicken and the egg phenomenon.

Rousey's role as a pioneer is undisputed, even if her late-career performance was criticized.

The Mayweather-McGregor fight is a lifeline for the sport of boxing

I think boxing, in some respect, should be thankful to Conor McGregor because boxing hasn't been the biggest story in sports, certainly since Mayweather Pacquiao. ... So I think in some respects, this is a lifeline for boxing.

The fight was one of the highest-selling PPVs ever, though boxing's survival being dependent on it is an opinion.

Madison Square Garden is the best venue for fights over Las Vegas

Vegas has so many great fights, but, man, there ain't nothing like the Garden, brother. [It is the Mecca].

Venue preference is inherently subjective.

Floyd Mayweather is a 'small little boy' and that's why the media glosses over his past

Hey, Floyd's a little boy. That's why. He's a small little boy. He's not this big heavyweight guy that everybody's afraid of. He doesn't come across as a woman neither because he's a little guy.

This is Tyson's personal theory and observation about public perception.

McGregor only stands a chance against Mayweather if he can kick and use knees

McGregor have to be able to kick. ... He has to be able to kick and use his knees. ... [Otherwise] he's not going to stand much of a chance.

Subjective tactical analysis from a legend, though McGregor did lose without being allowed to kick.

Floyd Mayweather is overmatched by Conor McGregor in trash talking

Mayweather for the first time in his life is very clearly overmatched in the shit talking game. So he's been known as a good shit talker but in reality he's just been like i'm gonna beat the fuck out of this guy... McGregor has that where basically anything McGregor says is funny because it's Irish.

While McGregor had many viral moments, the consensus on who 'won' the press conferences varied, and Mayweather ultimately won the fight comfortably.

Conor McGregor is the most electric athlete in all sports right now

Is Conor McGregor the most electric athlete in all sports right now? I think he is. I actually think he is. He's the one guy in the world where I have to watch everything he does... what Conor McGregor does is not only the fight, but it's after the fight. You have to watch what he says. He's unbelievable.

In 2016, McGregor was arguably the biggest star in sports, winning two belts and leading to the Mayweather fight. It's a matter of opinion but was a dominant sentiment at the time.

Former NFL linebacker James Anderson could clean out the UFC heavyweight division

James Anderson... I've been actually trying to convince to fight. ... This dude could fight. He really could. He is so athletic and violent, and he understands it. And he's not a big name, but he would clean out the heavyweight division.

Anderson never fought professionally in the UFC, so his dominance is theoretical.

Brock Lesnar is the scariest human on Earth

The only other takeaway I had [from UFC 200] was is Brock Lesnar, I think, is the number one scariest human on Earth. The fact that he came back after five years and just demolished Mark Hunt... Brock Lesnar, I think, is my number one scariest man on Earth.

Subjective opinion on intimidation.

Muhammad Ali would never have died if he were a female soccer player

Medically they gave it the name Parkinson's... but actually it was not something, I believe that if he was not a fighter, he would never have died because of that. [If he were a woman soccer player] it would have been safer... and he would have had fewer blows to the head.

While boxing likely contributed to Ali's condition, stating he would 'never have died' if he weren't a fighter is a hypothetical claim.

Kimbo Slice meant as much to our generation as Muhammad Ali meant to our parents' generation

It's a hot take, but it's kind of the correct take. Kimbo Slice meant a lot, too, to us. Because that early YouTube time, when he – do you remember watching those videos of Kimbo just bashing people's skulls in and saying, what the hell is going on? He was the baddest guy I've ever seen.

The impact of internet culture vs. mainstream cultural icons is subjective but culturally significant for millennial fans.

I could knock out Floyd Mayweather in a punch-for-punch fight

Punch for punch. I get three months to train my neck... Punch for punch. I could knock out Floyd Mayweather. People forget Floyd Mayweather is like 140 pounds, and I'm like 230, baby... As long as I can train my neck, that's the only stipulation I get.

While untested, it's widely considered delusional by sports fans, though the physics of a 100lb weight difference in a 'no-defense' punch contest are debated.

Jon Jones' addiction to marijuana isn't a real addiction

Jon Bones Jones today came out and said like, yeah, I used to smoke a lot of weed and now I don't anymore. And so now I'm back on the straight and narrow. And he said he was addicted to pot. We said you're addicted to pot because nobody – everyone is just going to laugh at you if you're addicted to pot. They're not going to be mad at you. Like that's such – that's – just not really an addiction.

This is a subjective opinion on the nature of addiction and the public's perception of marijuana.

Beating death in the ring is the same as beating Jesus

You mean to tell me the nigga lost the Kimbo Slice but beat Jesus? ... If you beat death, that's beating Jesus. Like, Jesus died for our sins, right? So, technically, anybody else that dies, it's because Jesus died, too. So, like, I say that puts you right above Jesus.

Theologically and factually absurd, but delivered as a bold sports take.
