The Rams are the overall favorite to win the NFC

I also don't think it's that hot of a take to say that the Rams could, I don't know what the odds are right now, but they feel to me like they might be, in my mind, the favorite to win the NFC.

The Rams were strong (12-5, NFCCG), but the Seahawks (14-3, SB champs) were the true NFC favorites. Rams were close but not THE favorite.

Trevor Lawrence should be in the MVP conversation if the Jaguars secure the number one seed

Trevor Lawrence right now is maybe in the MVP conversation if they get to one seed. He's playing that good. He's playing as good as any quarterback in the NFL right now.

PFT said Trevor Lawrence should be in the MVP conversation if the Jags get the 1 seed. Lawrence was indeed named an MVP finalist after leading the Jaguars to 13-4 and the AFC South title. However, the Jaguars did NOT get the 1 seed (they were the 3 seed; Denver was the AFC 1 seed). Lawrence was in the MVP conversation but without the 1 seed condition being met.

I think that this is Leg one of the home and home coach of the year series. ... I think that a sweep, a sweep goes a long way here. ... Liam Coen's done an incredible job.

PFT called the Jaguars vs Colts matchups a 'Coach of the Year series' between Liam Coen and Shane Steichen. Liam Coen finished 2nd in Coach of the Year voting (behind Vrabel), so the Jaguars' coach was indeed in the conversation. However, the Colts collapsed from 8-2 to 8-9, suggesting Steichen was not in the running. The take about Coen being a COTY candidate was validated.

Drake Maye is a 'total package' and a 'cover two killer'

He's efficient. Accurate. Total package... Cover two killer. [I've] been watching a lot of film. Knows cover two.

Drake Maye had an excellent 2025 season (4,394 yards, 31 TDs, 72% completion rate), but 'total package' and 'cover two killer' may overstate his abilities at this point. He led the Patriots to 14-3 but lost the Super Bowl.

I think Chiefs are gonna win this game... I'm just simply taking it because the Chiefs are 21 and 4 straight up off a loss with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. I just can't imagine them starting 0 and 2.

The Chiefs defeated the Bengals in Week 2, 2024. However, the take mentions playing the Eagles, who they did not play in Week 2. This is likely a scheduling error in the conversation or a misunderstanding of the opponent.

Jayden Daniels will finish as the worst quarterback of the 2024 draft class in the upcoming 2025 season

The Washington Commanders are gonna miss the playoffs. Jayden Daniels [will] finish dead last out of the 2024 QBs in that draft class.

Memes predicted the Commanders would miss the playoffs (correct — they went 5-12) and Jayden Daniels would finish dead last among 2024 QBs. Daniels only played 7 games due to injuries and had the lowest total stats of the class, but this was due to injury absences, not poor play quality. The Commanders missing the playoffs was correct; the Daniels ranking is technically true by volume stats but misleading.

Kevin O'Connell. Can't, can't win in the playoffs. Oh. He's a regular season merchant... Bringing the best out of him. Getting high seeds, losing the playoffs. Just something to keep your eye on. Keep an eye on.

I do think this is where Travis Kelce ramps it up. Like, I like his over yards. I think this is, he, he, he plays in second gear for the majority of the regular season. And then when you get to these points... it's Travis Kelce or Mahomes using his feet.

Travis Kelce had some big playoff moments (he scored TDs in the playoffs), but in Super Bowl LIX the Chiefs were dominated 22-40. The 'ramping up in playoffs' narrative was partially true through the AFC playoffs but fell apart in the Super Bowl.

Lamar Jackson may struggle because he doesn't like the cold

Coldest game that Lamar Jackson's ever played. Guess what it was? 27. This is eight degrees is very different from 27. Lamar, in their earlier matchup this season, the temperature was like 60 and he was wearing a hoodie and a beanie for it. I don't know that Lamar loves the cold.

The Ravens lost to the Bills 25-27 in the Divisional Round on January 19, 2025, in cold weather in Buffalo. Lamar Jackson played decently (18-of-25, 254 yards, 2 TDs) but the Ravens lost partly due to turnovers and a dropped 2-point conversion. The cold may have been a factor but Jackson's individual stats were solid.
