The Seahawks should try to lose in Week 18 to ensure a Super Bowl trip via the Pope correlation

2005 new Pope is elected... Seahawks win 13 games advance to the Super Bowl. 2013 new Pope is elected... Seahawks win 13 games, win the Super Bowl. 2025 new Pope is elected Seahawks win 13 games and... Should the Seahawks try to lose on Sunday to stay at 13 games so that it guarantees they at least get to the Super Bowl?

The historical dates and game counts for 2005 and 2013 are correct. The 2025 outcome is speculative.

The Colts are a legitimately good football team

The Colts are just fucking good. I don't know what else I, I feel like people are waiting for the shoe to drop. The Colts are five in one... Peyton Manning played on some really good offenses. They're good man. They're good. I, again, I think people are just waiting for it to not work, but I think they're just really good.

The Colts finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs in 2024, so they weren't 'elite' but remained solid.

Jared Goff is statistically the best quarterback in the NFL since joining the Lions

If you look at Jared Goff's stats since he became a Lion, you could make the argument that statistically he's the best quarterback in the NFL... by the numbers in terms of like yards, touchdowns, all that stuff.

While subjective based on which stats you prioritize, Goff has consistently ranked in the top tier for passing yards and touchdowns since 2022.

Caleb Williams is entering the best situation for a second-year quarterback in the history of the NFL

I truly believe this by the way. I think that the situation that Caleb Williams is in right now is the best situation in the history of second-year quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Think about it. They shored up the offensive line. They got rid of Matt Eberflus. That's good for six wins right there. They finally have a GM and a coach that are lined up on the same contract. They've got an offensive wizard at head coach who's got a bag that's deeper than the Mariana Trench.

While Williams had a strong support system, his rookie season and the transition to his second year were marred by offensive coaching changes and O-line struggles in reality.

Bengals rookie Shamar Stewart has all the leverage in his contract holdout

Shamar Stewart Bengal's first round pick... could reenter the 2026 NFL draft. If he remains unsigned and the Bengals don't sign him by the deadline... Shamar Stewart has all the cards. He can just train for a year.

A rookie re-entering the draft is extremely rare and usually results in lower draft stock, so 'all the cards' is likely a hyperbole.

I was '99 percent correct' about predicting a top-two pick Heisman winner making the Super Bowl

If I said in June of 2028 and asteroid is gonna hit Peru... And then in June of 2028 and asteroid hit Uruguay. Am I more right or than the people who said it would never happen? If in August I say for the first time in NFL history, a rookie's going to be playing to go to the Super Bowl and make the Super Bowl and that rookie is gonna be a Heisman Trophy winner. And that rookie's gonna be a top two pick. And that rookie's going to have a connection to Cliff Kingsbury. And then this all happens [with Jayden Daniels] and everyone's like, oh, you're an idiot. You said Caleb Williams was gonna make the Super Bowl. And I'm like, I basically called it.

He predicted Caleb Williams would do it; Jayden Daniels (another top 2 pick/Heisman winner coached by Kliff Kingsbury) actually led his team to the NFC Championship. He was literally wrong but remarkably close on the archetype.

I want the 49ers to win the Super Bowl to retroactively erase the Eagles' success from last year

I'm rooting for them to get to the Super Bowl now because I want, I want it to be erased... He's gonna deal with 49ers fans being like, it never would've beaten us... I'm rooting for them to win and, and win big. And so that way we can be like, the 49ers should have been in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

The 49ers did reach the Super Bowl but lost to the Chiefs, which partially supported Big Cat's 'spite' narrative but didn't end in a title.
